i agree to a point....the advantage of training on the field prior to events is two fold.
1) it allows you to learn the blind shots, impossible lanes to cross, bunkers that you simply cannot live in ever! but also
2) it allows you to familiarise yourself with the field in such a way that every move you make you know exactly where and when to shoot, what game breaking moves you can pull, exactly what bunkers give you dead spots to live in, etc........if this prior training is not available due to field layouts not being released then you will see lots of goober moves, some players being very static because they cannot remember from where they are getting shot, etc
