With teams aware of what is capable on each layout they know how to score points whereas 'freestyle' could lend itself to longer points and less interest to the spectators.

I think.....?
i agree to a point....the advantage of training on the field prior to events is two fold.

1) it allows you to learn the blind shots, impossible lanes to cross, bunkers that you simply cannot live in ever! but also

2) it allows you to familiarise yourself with the field in such a way that every move you make you know exactly where and when to shoot, what game breaking moves you can pull, exactly what bunkers give you dead spots to live in, etc........if this prior training is not available due to field layouts not being released then you will see lots of goober moves, some players being very static because they cannot remember from where they are getting shot, etc

The presupposes that you set the field up right in the first place Gaff!!

I agree with your second point but not really the first. Hell, if you cant work out what bunkers you cant live in now you never will!!;)

See you at the weekend?

that is the reason for exact field layouts! :D and about two hours of setting up and pacing out the field! :D

there are always bunkers on an XBall field that look real easy to step to but if you dont know about a blind shot or an angle into it you are gonna get ripped every time! ask Bowan about the small teabag and the snake at the last scrimmage we had - classic example!

we are training, but i dont know where yet, dont think its with you guys this weekend, i think thats next weekend. but if it is then yes :D

"Whatever the case a new design has been created and is on the way (at least that's what Laurent told me two days ago) and I will publish the design as soon as I get it."

This way we are sure that no teams, especially french teams have had the posibility to train on the fields.....:D

Yeah, Laurent and whatever French teams are playing X Ball at Campaign Cup have a conspiracy to totally dominate. And he's shamelessly doing it for money which he so desparately needs.

Also, all it takes is one team captain to protest the use of the same field another team has already played on to legitimize the need to have a different design and that has indeed happened.

I'll send Laurent an e-mail to ask what's up with the design.

I believe the layouts should be ready for this weekend, but that's down to how fast Laurent gets the 3d rendering done. If not it'll be up for next weekend.
Everyone will get a fair opportunity to see it before the event.
