actually Steve i may have changed my mind a little with regard the release of the field diagram.......

if we were playing for EXL spots next season (which dont look the case at tha mo!) i would stick with my first thought. but as the last XBall leg ever could be Campaign i think a hidden layout could make it more fun to freestyle and for spectators to watch.

could you change my plea to guilty (sorry i meant hidden field layout!) :D :D
Freestyle seems to be the Word of the Weak, excuse me, Week.

So maybe two wrongs do make a rite.

I'll take it under advisement (again) but I think you may be wrong (damn, there's that word again) in your premature obit for Euro X Ball.

The main reason I'm not using the Northeast tourney design is because I don't want the NXL teams to have the serious advantage of having played a tournament on that field while all the other teams, at best, have only been able to practice on it.
I think the very fact that they are NXL'ers will eliminate the chances of the Euro Open X teams to win the event Steve. I doubt whether the fact that they will have plyed the field befoer or not will contribute to the fact that they will smash the Euro teams too much. They will win because they are better players.

The Legion have played the fields from Paris, Dam and Norway more than the other EXL teams, but the layouts were still released. Why should it be any different now?

Forgive me for maybe being ignorant but how, in any way does knowing and practising on fields in advance make it less viewer friendly?

Even if the fields are released days and not weeks before the tourney, it still give teams enough time for the coaches to devise moves and the players to have some situation awareness.

I feel that part of the XBall format is the way that the players are familiar with the field and along with sideline coaching prevents protracted stalemates as seen in 7man.... With teams aware of what is capable on each layout they know how to score points whereas 'freestyle' could lend itself to longer points and less interest to the spectators.

I think.....?

my view of freestyle is that i would pick a primary get there and then there isnt a game plan.

then i can go where i want and shoot at who i want

for me i see freestyle as being 110% aggression & flair ball

others may percieve it different, but you asked my opinion

I think I've already given the reason, Sam. I don't think it's right to hand any team any advantage even or especially if they are superior teams.

Whatever the case a new design has been created and is on the way (at least that's what Laurent told me two days ago) and I will publish the design as soon as I get it.

Laurent suggests that we don't change the new design at all for the Russian Legion v Philly Americans exhibition game because all the teams participating in X Ball would probably prefer to note how those two teams play the field.

What do you peepz think?

Steve

Post edit: Russian Legion never played a tournament with the same field design before EXL events because PSP Division X Ball uses different designs than NXL. Also Campaign represents the first time NXL teams have played a Millennium event.

Just please don't shoot me, dude. I've had enough of that.:)

And you will at least try to limit yourself to inside of the arena, right?
