It's very unlikely given my current predicament (away at uni, poor and becoming very out of practice) i would really like to try xball one day and this open XBall format gives me a sliver of hope.

Although i was wondering about the issue of cost and i'm curious on how much a 'regular' XBall game would cost for johnny normal like myself. Based on useage in divisional XBall in the US.... how much paint on average does the team use over a full length XBall game? I know it's gonna be a hell of a lot of paint but im still curious about the feasability of running a one of XBall tournament over here in blighty that us regular players cold get involved in.

if the top 8 teams are playing EXL, and another 16 (i'd assume top) teams play Division 1, who's going to be left in Div 1 and Pro 7s at the events where X-ball is being played?

Good question. With 8 events the participation could be pretty slim at some events. Pro 7-man will suffer most, I believe. There are not too many pro teams in Europe and the best 8 of them play EXL. What's left? The teams who wish for a spot in EXL 2005 have to play atleast two 7-man tournaments so they will fill a few spots. How many american teams are going to play MS pro 7-man when the competition isn't really too hot? We could be back in the 'less than 10 pro teams' days.

Same goes for Open X-ball, how many americans are really going to send a full X-ball squads to play 2nd class euro teams?

The coming season might be a bit of a struggle as teams try to find out their places in the series. But eventually it will work out and we'll have a great 2005 season :D Just take a look at 7-man pro in NPPL, a very interesting season coming up with new pro teams.

There are no pro 7 man at the Xball events. Its pro 7 man at 4 events, and EXL at the other 4 events.

What will be interesting is the pro turn out for Germany, i cant see many pro teams playing it. Huntingdon Beach is the week before, and Paris not too long after.

Sherman, the likes of Dynasty, Avalanche, Bushwackers, Arsenal, Excessive, Bad Company and maybe the Dogs will still play in Europe. However i would expect them to play the Div 1 Xball rather than the pro 7 man. They will play because they will get to play each other, and as such competition and standard of play will be very high, probably higher than that of the EXL. I cant see many European teams playing Open Xball, and some of the NXL'ers are planning on playing it as well.

Looks like Germany will be an easy event for any pro team to win:eek:

I think Dynasty will do em all, but that aside I think Sherman's right - fair few at Toulouse but not many elsewhere.

I would be amazed to see Company and Bushwhackers playing X here as they don't even play it in the States...XSV, Arsenal and Avalanche are all playing NPPL and PSP - leaves little time and money for many trips to Europe.

Amsterdam and Campaign are Xball events, so there will be USA teams playing Div 1 Xball there, and everyone will be at Toulouse;)

The events that will suffer will be the non EXL events, Germany, Madrid, and Malaga.

Dynasty are planning on playing 18 events this year, and Lang has already said that Dynasty will be playing Div 1 Xball in the MS, as well as all the other MS events. i know that several of the NXL teams will be playing in the Open Xball as well, as well as the exhibition matches on the field walking thursday at EXL MS legs. Lanche are planning on playing in the MS as well.

I agree with Nick and Martin.
But, from the promoter's persective more games means more cost, (more refs and more fields??), so it's likely to stick with the two losses and yer out system.
