The double elimination system is inherently unfair for certain teams as it provides a situation where the best teams just get better because they play more games thereby ensuring thier supremacy in some part, because of their greater number of games at each event.
It makes no difference to anybody in us not following the US model if we play a knockout system.
It does however make a huge difference to a few of the less able EXL teams, each of whom have paid the same entrance fee.
It needs to be changed to a fairer system !

If you lose 2 matches you are out. Just like the divisional PSP Xball format.

Just to clarify. If the game time is run like divisional xball stateside, you are not getting 40 minutes of actual playtime. the 2minutes between the end and start of points is a running clock until the final 5 minutes of each half. This is why knowing when to use your timeout flag is critical.

Even with the running clock the amount of games you get works out to more than a normal major tourney even if you're playing in low scoring matches.

Though as a yank my thoughts do not matter, but EXL should run a full season schedule like NXL. Unless a few EXL teams haven't fully committed to the full season, thus possibly leaving forfeits in a full season schedule, I don't see any reason why it can't be worked out somehow.

Nick´s suggested schedule;

Divide the 8 teams in to two groups of four. Each team plays alla three in their group. After that is done, the top team from both divisions play a game for first and second place, second team in each division play for third and fourth and so on. This way all teams get four games per tournament. Think this is about right??? Correct me if I´m wrong Nick
