Short answer is bl00dy awful:D

its a cheap 'n' nasty left overs desert like a sponge pudding with bits in (raisins and stuff) it was baked as a long roll hence the name (absolutely no "dick" in it);)

how about another "english" "delicacy" toad in the hole?:D

no. no, no.... that's egg on toast! Toad-in-the-hole is batter/pancakey type stuff with sausages in it. Kinda like a yorkshire pudding with sausages.

Can you tell that my other half does all the cooking?

next question'll be "what's Yorkshire Pudding?"

later...

Toad in the hole sounds SUSPICIOUSLY like "Pigs in the Blanket", which is sausage in pankakes.

Now WHY do you brits come up wiht weird names for your food?

"Bangers and Mash" : Sausage in mashed potatoes
"Fish and Chips" : fried fish and FRIES! NOT chips! "CHIPS" are flat fried potato slices, NOT french fries!

And I don't want to know what's in a "Jelly Baby". And why is there no "Mountain Dew" there? And with all that great German beer, and English ales, WHY do your pubs serve BUDWEISER!?!?!?!? You DO know that's like sex in a canoe, don't you? (You figure out the punchline, It's a family board)

The only thing weird about American food is, arguably, what's IN it. I don't WANT to know what's in a hot dog, thank you large! (Hot dog, you MIGHT call it a frankfurter or a sausage there, I don't know...) Actually, I think there's chicken lips and hens teeth in a hot dog. (Insert drumroll here)

At least the names are usually straight up. I ask for a hamburger, I GET a hamburger. Wait, there's no ham in a... ummm...

I'll be going to bed now...
