yeah, these prices are bad :( I've got a lot of friends interested, cause it's pretty close and looks fun. So I'm most probably going, but I'm having second thoughts now

My biggest concern is the number of refs needed if the vast majority of players are rental customers. I think UKPSF guidelines are 1 staff per 10 or 15 customers for rental days as they need an awful lot more supervision than regular players. Absolute newbys especially are prone to lifting goggles at the most inopportune moments.
I also dread to think what the insurance bill will be like!

If you only get 1000 players (about half as many as you want) you're still talking of around 70 refs on the basis of 1:15. If there were a large proportion of regular players then those numbers would be able to be reduced, but at rental prices for paint you won't get many walk on/tournament players. Even with 1:30, with your aim for 2k players that's still nearly 70 refs. Then again, that could explain the paint price - paying all those staff wages!

Sorry if I seem to be trying to put a damper on things, but safety is paramount in my mind and it only takes 1 person to lose an eye for an outcry against the sport and the resulting knee-jerk legislation put through Parliament spoiling it for all of us.

Had another email..

Just a quick note to say that there was a problem with the paint prices and they have now been lowered to 2000 paintballs for just £40 (and they are good quality).
That's not so bad :) tbh I don't think i'd get through too much paint on the day anyway

Is it just me, or does this read to anyone else as "Oh Sh*t, we just got rumbled by people that know what they're talking about" ?
