Women in Paintball !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gota agree with Pwlldu on both the sports that women play and the stereotypes.
Most men tend to think of women as little things that stay at home and bring beer, truth is they can be (and frequently are) as good as men on many fronts, a sport like this is a good example of a sport both sexes can participate in on an equal footing.

It seems quite often that most of the people who claim women can never play good paintball are more afraid that they'll get shown up in front of their peers by a woman than anything else.

It shouldnt be a question of can women play, but how can we get more women to play.

yea i would like to play againts women sometime, but a lot of women just dont like the thought of getting dirty, and getting paint all over them, but the cool ones do!

We did a punter day a few weeks ago with A group of 16-17 year old girls. there was about 20 of them and I have to say they were more gutsy than most of the men I have seen on punter days. OK they did cheat a bit and there was one or two who didnt like the pain but most of them were more than willing to storm bunkers, or do mad suicidal charges at the opposing force.
Too many times I have seen most of a team ( mainly blokes) hanging round their home flag. In no way were they gonna get shot. It can be quite infuriating when you do all the heroics and get shot and then some wimp who hid under a bush all game crawls out when the opposition is all dead and carry the flag home. So yes women do make good players

on the most basic level of paintball anybody who can hold a gun can play. There is no reason why anybody male of female can't learn to shoot straight etc.

That is one of the things that is so cool about our sport and that is that age, race, sex and all that stuff dont matter, even at the highest level.

i cant think of any reason why the couldnt be equal. I mean with the ability to do more than one thing at a time they could even be better.

OK back to the question. No I dont think women (in general) will be as good as men. I dont think they have the competitive edge that men do. And lets face it they are far more sensible than us. It takes a lot of money as well as time and commitment to be good in this game and I dont think that most women would really dedicate themselves to something which in essence is just a game. Plus paintball will really eat into their shopping money (shoes or new barrel? shoes or new barrel?)

not all men have the same copetitive edge as we do. people used to say women would never do loads of stuff and look where they are now (in space and everything) So personaly i think that if we can love the sport then so can anybody, or is it only for men, i dont know??

Like i said b4, i think this is the greatest sport ever cos there are no age, race or sex barriers...........and long may it continue!!!

Of course most men have a competitive edge. Just tell a group of guys you have a bigger penis than them all and watch that competitive edge come out. Or try telling another guy that you can drink more than them. Bioligically we are all like bulls in the field. We dont like competition. We always have to be the best. And more so in any aggressive sport. We will do anything to be the best, like spending the same as a good car on a marker. Most women just wouldnt even consider doing that.
