world - maybe. UK - definately

to date many teams have changed to represent their town/city and i think this will continue rapidly in the UK with the PA league.
in the USA there are too many tourneys and teams for it to have a sudden change (this is happening in the UK) but i think it will happen as xball takes enen further off.

even pompy are putting a team together - mainly with current or ex pompy uni players. pretty much the uni team will be representing the town.

Is it now a requirement to be geographically linked for the Central 7's or can we still be Sillius Soddus???

nope you can be who you like in the c7 i think. the reason we have changed our name to manchester eXtreame for next year is basically because we mentioned it ages ago and it seems like the way forward in attracting sponcers and puplic etc

But Paul you have missed the point completly. The point made is that the Mayhem Tigers have lost the 'mayhem' in favour of London Tigers. Whereas the PGI central 7's only requires you to affiliate with a town/city without the name change. Whereas the Paintball association requires you to have your affiliated town/cities name in your team name which it looks like the Tigers are following this trend.
Other teams that have followed this trend so far are
Northern Outkast becoming Newcastle Outkasts,
El Mariachi/Hellfish becoming Topgun Sunderland
Lincon Storm becoming err Lincon Storm
RDX becoming Manchester Xtreme
Smart as a carrot becoming Smart as a ???????????
The Sinners becoming The Inbred Bumpkin Sinners [for the purposes of the PA series in Millenium events we will still be just 'The Sinners' for the time being]
Anyone want to add some more?

Now see the trend that is forming.

No not missed the pojnt entirely just quoted what was perhaps not the best thread. Originally Blakey had 'suggested' that the team names include geographical locations, whether or not this is still happening I'm not sure but it was certainly the original plan.

As far as I knew we were going to be known as Macclesfields Twisted, with the of the responces I've seen from some local press offices I'm not to bothered either way to be honest!

Paul.
:)

p.s. note I said some I don't need links to positive responces I'm on the boards enough to have allready seen em lol ;)

I would be interested to know what extra 'sponsorship' these or other teams have attracted by changing their name.
