I remember being told the reason we have .68 calibre is because at the time Paintball (as a proposed game) was being developed, the tooling necessary to do the job was already available and being used to produce pharmaceutical products (I seem to remember bath oil balls).
.

Someone is gonna start try shooting bath oil balls at the next possible oppurtunity now, just as a scientific experiment of course. lol;)

EDIT:::

Does that mean if I pop down to the body shop, buy a few cases of bath oil balls, dish them out to my teamates and opposition and then start playing in a dowpour we could get a foam party going???? :D
Told you so. :p

see skeet makes it look like stupid questions mario.
Please - with your immense intelligence, which obviously far outstrips my own - tell me exactly how skeet has made my questions look stupid. Go on - let me know.

For one - He answered my question about the medical symbol and for that i thank him.

However, not only did he not answer my question about the differing sizes in calibres, that question still hasn't been answered. I now know why we have .68 calibre, but what about the other sizes that are so readily available?

Is there a good reason? or is it a conspiracy between paint and barrel manufacturers to keep us spending money? :rolleyes:

edit: skeet you know what i meant you pedantic bugger ;) thanks

wasn't the red cross started by a swiss guy - n that flag was a white cross on a red background (i may be wrong don't know my flags) being lazy he just inverted the colours rather than come up with a decent design thus the red cross was born

ben

P.S. i may be wrong i often am but fairly sure this is what they told us at scouts back in the day ;)

Ever tried forcing water-based paint into a gelatin shell? The Shells are all made to the same specification, it's the way they're filled and dried that creates variation in calibre.

Scientifically down is towards the centre of the earth, if you could possible pass through the core, as soon as you are past dead-centre you'd be going up :D

apparently the red cross was originally a countries flag... ooh, damn, which country is historically always neutral, because its their flag. as it is and always will be associated with neutrality. it was changed to a crescent in some places as the cross stirred religious issues what with it being associated with christianity and all :) there you have it
