Interesting debate...

Well - I don't know why having sponsor/supporter/friends company etc logo's on your top would offend. If not I think a lot of tops would look rather boring (bring back the plain camo top eh!)

I agree, most people and teams are merely "supported" and I think "Sponsored" as mentioned before is a word which 99.9% of the time is used incorrectly (as pointed out earlier by someone)

Our tops (HPG ones now we have been mentioned) have logo's, some of which are contractual, some a thank you and some promotion for some of our "Sponsors" (free stuff) and to those that "support" us (not so free but they have a fit bird on the trade stand ;)) The HPG top, whatever some peoples inpressions of it are, is a nice top and attracts a lot of positive attention - Now this attention could be a hail of paintballs :)rolleyes: ) or people looking and maybe thinking "ooo, i need item x, i must ring company x on Monday to get it!" - I don't think at anypoint in the design or layout was this designed as a pecker extender (;) ) as if that was the case I should sign a few people of this forum up :p

Oh, by the way, as a side note - we have had a HPG top made with some slight colour variations as we had so many enquiries about buying them that we had some made so we could sell them (diff colour so we still know who was part of our squads!!) we have sold quite of few of these, even a couple of tops have been sold to guys in the USA! so they can't be that bad! These are for sale if you want one :p

I also believe that some people/teams do put the shop/manufacturers names on their tops as sometimes a way of bulling up the team, but who cares if thats the case?

As Raff said, we have a very strange situation in the fact that 3 store owners are part of the same team and help each other out! No conflicts - with just our team and expanding of paintball in mind - so why not promote that!?

Im also extremely disappointed that the membership of the Grumpy old man brigade is getting too big and getting too easy to enter!! He has to be 50 times more grumpy than this ;)

Oh, does that mean I have to take the NQ logo off the new kit design Markie ;) or does anyone have a company logo to hide the last remaining 3mm squared bit of free space on our tops? ;)

And Raff - if you want "support" dude - EXL will be more than happy to supply you some art work ;) lol

Raff i will never be old and grumpy....

Oppy: Do we support you erh yes we give you money off and deals with clinics which spanned from the first team you joined do we conflict with any one else on your sponsor list erh NO.

nick its not a pointless debate it was a statement which i was looking for comments about.

The main point was the conflict of sponsors selling the same thing and the need to have nearly 20 logos on a top for what reason ?????????

peace.

Well, if the logos conflict, obviously they are not sponsors (or the sponsors just haven't noticed yet) ;)

Maybe the real point of the debate is, that some sponsored players get upset, because they feel their "fame" deteriorates, when everyone is running around covered in logos? - "how is everyone to know I am a sponsored superstar, when Team Old-Fat-*******s in Div. 3 have just as many logos?" ;)

In reality, I think it is MUCH more effective that people see the kit you use, and logos are only really important on stuff you can't easily discern, like the brand of paint.

In past contracts, I always wondered why several clauses were used to describe how big logos on the jersey should be, where they were situated, and so on, and it was never mentioned that the player actually had to shoot the gun :D

- fortunately most companies have now corrected that little oversight ;)

Anyway - if players want to send the signal that they enjoy suporting some company or other - without getting paid to do so - more power to them :)

- and, sponsored players that bitch about it, should think twice, because their sponsors might easily begin to think, they are only supporting them because they are paid to :p

think bout it if u se apro with a ego or what ever u think wow i want one of them it must be good if they have 1 so il get one
then thats more money for the company lol
Such elegant prose, its untrue.

However, yes, you can safely assume that's how it works, and what drives "private label" gun sales to a degree.
