Non of the Company's in Destiny's banner, in our sigs or on our shirts have requested that we do anything to highlight the support that they give the team, eg. our shirts are custom designed yet you will not find the company's name printed on it. Note I have deliberately put the word support. Now although these companies overlap in what they retail, they support us in different ways and seem to be happy with the way we conduct business with them.

I gladly acknowledge the support that Team Destiny get from various companies and organisations, you know who you are and will continue to do so in whatever way I can
If their support allows my players to play the game cheaper, then what difference does it make if or where we mention that fact

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY

Do teams need to get as as many companies names on there tops and sigs on baller and they say that they are sponsored by them ?????????

I mean do they get stuff for free ????

I would call it support not sponsorship....

and why why why do teams have so many sponsors that all do the same thing ??????

I mean not naming and shaming but some teams out there have about 20 names on there tops

I would call that conflict on interest when you are saying that one Internet company is sponsoring you and then you have another company's name right next to the other one....

I am all for helping teams and players out but come on its like getting coke to endorse you and then drinking Pepsi.

comments welcome.

It just doesnt make sense to me
Most players know the word sponsor is really support, just the word sponsor is commonly used.

Companies/stores give out discount and support packages to teams , so therefore these teams/players show appreciation , and to say a big thankyou to these companies/stores by helping them advertise there logo's and name on sigs and tops.

If "x" company logo/name is next to "y" company logo/name on the same top or sig, i cant see a problem with conflict unless its a full sponsorship that player/team is given by a certain company .

What a pointless debate :)

First of all, teams can put logos on their jersey just to support a specific brand - they don't need to be sponsored to do that (plenty of you people are raving about this or that product in here, without being sponsored).

Secondly, I charge you all to find a paintball jersey (baring custom jerseys) without a big logo on it - all the paintball companies are making damn sure, when you buy their product, you promote their brand in a major way.... even when paying full retail price, so I see nothing wrong with teams cutting down on expenses, by outting a few extra logos on there.

if you have permission from a company to display their brand, by either being 'sponsored', 'supported', just having written or verbal consent, or buying their product as mentioned above... what the hell do they care???

i myself have mixed views on this, in that, i think its brilliant to support companies that support you, but this is a two way street; a lot of people can get stuck over by the company for free advertising in all fairness.

thats my input, whether its fully along the lines of whats being discussed or not :) ;)

BUT......

Doesnt the HPG top look pretty?
I have always felt they are a bit cluttered. Lots of individual sponsored Logos from 1x Major company. They do stand out and are easily noticable tho.

There are diffirent levels of sponsorship/ support.
Some teams get all their gear for free and some have to pay at a discounted rate. If teams or suppliers choose to advertise the fact they are link with each other in some form of deal i dont see it harming anyone and the suppliers wont moan at a bit more advertising.

When you buy something from a supplier they give it to you in a carrier bag with their logo to advertise the fact YOU have just purchased something. Its the same thing really.

OK - let me interject. TBA is a team that has NO sponsorship - and has never actively searched for any.

If a company wants to help us out in some way - then I'm not going to refuse. As a mark of appreciation - I add their company logo to our jerseys (after first seeking that companies permission to do so).

So far that's DataVox (my company ;)), Pressure DVD and LiPS (I did have M-9 Paintball on there - but they seem to have 'disappeared').

Personally, I can't see anything wrong with have a load of logos on your jerseys, kit, whatever. It's all part of the paintball 'pimping' that goes on (extra 'bling' gives you that extra 1bps and penile length as well).

I am sure the corresponding companies don't mind it either - as it is all extra exposure for no - or very little - cost.

The Halloween one (as it has already been mentioned) is an interesting one though. Oli is the 'main' sponsor (being the owner of HPG) and Steve (Oppy) is a captain of one of his teams - yet Steve has started a 'rival' (EXL) to his main sponsor (HPG). The reason I point this out - is not to stir trouble - but to show it is possible for people who do the same thing to work along side each other - rather than against each other.

I think Markie is becomming a grumpy old man before his time. Welcome to the club :D!
