its all hype since all guns can now go 15bps they cant go on about speed so its the next my dad is bigger than your dad

Errm, that doesnt relate to my post at all. When did i mention a lighter gun makes you shoot faster? I was talking about movement (running, snapping, breakouts) in general, i wasnt talking about how fast the gun can shoot.

so your gun being lighter helps quick decisions on the field

so if you think "hmm should i bump up or not"

your light gun helps you reach the answer quicker?

why do people want paintball markers to be so light? is there any reason for it other than people being too lazy/weak to lift/hold it? does 1 or 2 ounces really make any difference?
personally mate I don't believe such a small amount in weight is going to make much difference at all, 90% hype by the manufacturers to sell their new model very much along the lines of "...and due to extra milling the new 07 [insert marker name] is now 10 grams lighter than the 06.." all pretty meaningless. Double it up into the realms of 4 or 5 ounces and then I reckon you'd notice.

Think of it this way a std AA battery weighs about an ounce

I have an Angel Ir3 and a matrix DM3 which ARE heavyweights in the realms of today's markers.

not really rubbish, just simple physics, the lighter something is the less energy it takes to get it moving, and the less energy it takes to stop it moving, thus making your snapshots quicker and making you quicker off the break :)
i agree a few grams wont make much, if any difference, but just think how far they have come in the last 10 years or so, all those shaved off grams eventually add up

I don't think he's referring to the speed of triggering but the speed of the snap-shot itself, in which case, he's right.
The only thing to debate is the degree of effect.

I love the idea of lighter guns, I went from a DMC to an Etek because I found the DMC too big for me to use and too heavy. The only problem I have with lighter guns is now they're getting much smaller aswell I don't think I like the idea of playing with something that tiny, I get the idea it would throw my balance off a bit, I havn't tried the mini but Jonny bought one today so I'm interested to have a go, See if my theory has any reality. :D (Probably not!)
