I believe the first guns to shoot paintball's (nelspot 007) where called markers because they were used to mark trees which where to be cut down by lumber jacks. hence the word marker.

Yeah, that is a pretty well known fact, but the guys that started out using them for the first time probably called them guns. After all it would fit in with the way they saw the game. It wasn't until relatively recently that people started using the term marker a lot, because a large part of the world is suddenly afraid to be offensive...

I was just telling Tubbie to say hi to his teammates for me. I played a few tourneys with these guys.
It'll be easy to find me at Mayhem (or more correctly the Dutch Masters Amsterdam), I'll be the one taking pot shots at you with a golden eagle... Like anyone ever hit anything with that gun!

ok, i will try to puncuate and such. I knew some of you other guys called it a paintball gun but i just wondered how many. Marker just sounds to "sweet" for a game like paintball. Anyway thanks for your replys i feel special lol. LATER
