Who here is 'hard'?

After I consume copious pints of lager, I find myself asking the question, what is 'hard' ? someone who can beat most people up? someone who can stand there ground? someone who goes looking for fights all the time? someone who never fights because he knows he doesn't have to prove himself?

I pose this question to you, at 2:39 in the morning (GMT), what are your thoughts?

'Hard', in my books, has two meanings:

First being somebody who is overly abrasive and all too willing to show off their physical power (most of the time in a little scuffle). In laymans terms, the guy who thinks he's hot s**t and wants to to take it out on the other guy.

The second being someone trying to show off how much pain they can take. There has to be an element of success for that one, though.

I personally find both to be a bit immature and pointless, but then again, I'm the wimp who avoids any confrontation and would have trouple beating up a melon.

People who walk round like they are ten men are not 'hard', they are scared and rely on intimidating other people so nobody messes with them, FACT. If you look at the animal kingdon this is true for most of the smaller defenceless ones, puffer fish, bearded dragon etc. Real hard people can act normal knowing that if anybody does mess with them they will defend themselves accordingly and will probably be okay.

i'd say 'hard' comes down to two factors metal toughness(you can be built likea brick sh*thouse but if you burst into tear everytime someone says boo i dont think you count)
And physcial strength (this could mean your small but say you are a balckbelt or lighting fast and can pack a punch, or you could be a monster and just bash people on the top of the head)

You can be hard if you have these characteristics in my opinion at least
