Paintball is going nowhere. In this country at least. The vast majority of players talk a lot of talk but when its time to walk they sudenly require a wheelchair and someone else to push them. They believe themselves to be at the top of their game when they reach the top of their division. I know players who play in divisions lower than where they should be playing who win that div and come off high fiving and congratulating each other like utter c*nts. Why bother? You've beaten someone who's skill set is below yours. Yea! way to go! And the even better thing is, this is a lot of the country who do this.
Players who complain that they have to travel an hour to go to training or pay some extra money to go abroad to play at a decent tournament series.
Players who think that the epitome of their career is playing in div1 in this country.
Fat, old c*nts who cant let go and let new blood take their places on the teams who do want to get better.
Players who talk about getting better but then find excuses to do something else.
Players who blame the state of UK paintball on the americans and their prices and opputunites instead of the real culprits. Themselves.
These are the reasons why paintball is going nowhere.
This country is a joke in terms of playing ability. There are very few teams who actually make any effort to consistently better themselves no matter what the costs.
I hate playing in this country cause its ****. And thats why paintball is ****.
baca people go to motor sports events because they have some idea of whats going on. the driver puts his foot on the bruum bruum bit and he goes really fast. I would guess they also go because the chances of fatal injury are relativly high compared to paintball. It's human nature in that we love devastation. I took my parents to an event just to see if they got it. They didnt, because its not something they are familiar with. Even when i explained what was goin on they still didnt really get it and they left pretty much as soon as they could. Motor sports mean something to people. they can latch onto one face and see it as the main factor in why they watch it. To cheer for their boy (schumacher, button etc) Paintball, you have seven fairly unattractive guys shooting another seven fairly unattractive guys. Who do you cheer for? And dont someone say 'look at football' cause thats a f*cking sh*t analogy. their faces aren't covered up at the most crucial time.Baca Loco said:Aight, enough of this repetitious negativity as y'all are pi**ing me off.
Let's compare pball to motor racing. Talk about no central focal point! Unless you're at an oval track you can't see the whole course and unless you're in view of the leader board you're only guessing at which cars are leading. In essence you're simply watching loud, fast cars roar around and around because you can't take in the whole of it regardless. With F1 and road courses you get momentary glimpses yet tens of thousands of peeps like to attend races. ???? And look at golf. I mean, c'mon, thousands of peeps go to actual golf courses to see the Pros play but what do they actually see? They gobble up bleacher seats at particular holes where available or else they wander around following a particular golfer or watching parts of particular holes. Again, it isn't possible to take in the entirety of the event when you watch them live nor is it possible from what you are physically able to watch to know what's happening. So precisely some of the things peeps say will deny paintball public popularity don't seem to have impacted other more publically popular sports.
