Our team is marshalling a punter day in September which is for kids - some of them with disabilities, others with various disorders.

From what I've been told we'll have people in wheelchairs, people who are partially sighted and others who have tourette's or ADHD.

Sounds like it's going to be an interesting (read 'scary'!) day - if there is anyone wheelchair-bound, I'll let you know how they get on.

I teach special needs...... I think handing an ADHD kid a marker could be an accident waiting to happen.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
They have difficulty concentrating e.g. on a safety briefing and then get over excited and find it hard to control themselves.
(that's genuine ADHD not the mis-labelled kids who are just misbehaving).
I'd get your site owner to check this out thoroughly before you go ahead.

To counter the whole 'arms needed to push wheelchair' thing, you could have the marker mounted to some part of the chair, obviousley this would be a movalble mount, so it would only take 1 hand to shoot the marker. The only problem would be that the players would have to us electric wheelchairs.

If a team wanted to play a game and was anywhere near me (2 hrs drive) they have themselves 4 jerseys and an ir3!

they can play just like they play basketball........fast in then pick up the marker and shoot. No need for any different kit, just a clear floor. Give them the kit and they'll find the best way to play.......our "clever" ideas are just speculation.
So any ideas on a venue?

ive got to agree. Ive seen guys in wheelchairs play other sports and they dont need a gun mount or anything, they are damn fast in those chairs and can pick their gun up just as quick

well why not try asking an event organiser if a fundraising event could be held the day b4 an event it would be great for publicity also you guys could get in to a wheelchair and show us what your made of and raise some money for charity ask paint suppliers to donate some paint and so it goes a bit further limit the paint per player and the winning team could get a good sport trophie
and also if you involve a charity from the start they will help with the wheel chairs, puplicity and donations for the event it would also help open the door for the whole wheel chair thing
i have a friend that fundraises and she thinks that that it would be a brilliant way to raise awareness for both a charity and paintball
so hands up who would take the challenge of getting a sponsor sheet filed in and playing in a wheel chair

i think that we could quite posssibly pull this off for free, you know! We just need someone who knows how to set up a tourney *cough*blakey*cough*. Then we could talk to someone like ZAP or diablo into providing the paint for free, and blakey could loan us a sup' air feild or two, and i'm sure H-Pac would come for free or at least at a reduced rate, 'cos all the sponsors would get some major publicity from it, we may eve be able to get onto the news (even if it is just local) or the papers. So blakey, where are you!
