Sitting next to me at the moment is a wheelchair bound friend, and we are having a great laugh at this thread. i'm sure that everyone posting here has the greatest respect for disabled people, and most of the ideas are coming from my friend, who says chill out i also have a sense of humour. ;) ;) ;)

Fair enough that your wheelchair bound friend HAS a sense of humour...not everyone has. I have heard the "jokes" like everyone else has, I just don't repeat them in the wrong company....a public forum IS the wrong company.

Mark, with the greatest of respect, no one on here has taken the pi##, i think the idea is valid and could be taken further. Even light hearted comments are made with respect, and i'm sure no offense was meant to anyone.

i must agree with mark on this point....

i know it might sound funny! but i must have 10/12 friends that are in chairs and there are some of the must indepentent people i know... my best mate is in a chair and nothing stops him.. he has 9 olympic medals, has played basketball all over the world, thrown himself off just about ever olympic downhill ski slope through out europe canada and america, water skied ,jet skied quad raced and just about ever other kind of stupid thing that adrealine junkies call fun...... we have talked on many occations about w/c paintball , the only reason why we have never set up a game is the lack of players in the area to make it worth while..
if you guys think for one minute that cos there in a chair they wouldnt be able to make it between bunker whilst shooting or getting shot out you are sadly mistaken... these guys and get themselves around a fair bit quick than you might think and proberly fitter and stronger than must of us.... how many ablebodied do you know that do a 10mile run before breakfast then another 10 in the evening every day rain or shine, take there cars out of the garage by rotating the front wheel with there hand just so they can get in. these guy just show the sheer determination so many of us lack.... if they did play paintball you could be damn sure they would play alot harder and a hell of alot better than any of us......

Sephiroth, he has never played paintball, but i know he would love to. The chairs need a good surface to get around with ease, so a grass field would definitely be awkward, and yes Iain every one i know in a chair puts 200% into everthing they do, i think maybe Jack was making a valid point about there being difficulties, but thats what these forums do, get over problems.
I think it would be a great idea.

Lets do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we need an indoor field that will let us set it up or we could hire a sports hall?
How about using V-balls or similar? wheelchairs aint cheap, particularly the light sports ones. Paint would knack them
Lots of lie down coke cans...... that way you've got the angles and the players are naturally going to be playing low.
How about doing it with pumps? that way you could plan a move where you roll in quick pick up the pistol and fire.....rather than sitting tight and just exchanging paint?
Can we get some wheelchair users registered to express their ideas?
If this gets off the ground our team will "sponsor" a team....... we'll provide kit and Tourney markers for a five man squad
(E-blades and eclipse cockers from my personal armoury)

The game could be altered slightly....... how about only hits to the mask and marker count? that would compensate for the fact that players wouldn't have their hands free to shoot all of the time?
And aiming would be more important.

Come on we have to do this, does anyone have access to an indoor field?

NOW people we can do this........we have the means, start looking for a sports hall/warehouse anything that we could use.

Play it limited............. reduce amount of paint to clean off chairs and also the floor (it would need to be cleaned after each round for traction) and it would stop the game from getting bogged down, plus remove the need for massive air tanks and battlepacks.

Come on enthusiasm people :)

Offer stands.......full kit provided by us for one team.

Any other teams up to sponsor a team? this could be an event.
