Sometimes you can't get enough of a good thing.

Plus this isn't so messy to clean up.......like watching movies of women wrestling in marinera sauce, you'd love to see it in your front room but it is a b*tch to shampoo out of the carpet afterwards.

Hmm, developed by the same company that did Vivendi's book based Lord Of The Rings games for the Xbox.....not to be confused with the EA developed rather slick film based LOTR games, it sucked, badly. Stuff like this doesn't fill me with confidence. If this game goes down very poorly then it wont give many other game companies the confidence to finance more competent products in future.

Another thing that bothers me is the fact that it has no direct league association. I would have much preferred if it was created in association with the NPPL or NXL more directly. Because from what I've seen about this it is going to be rather fragmented in structure with the pro teams having signed up on an individual basis. I think the two leagues missed a golden opportunity to get them selves associated with a mainstream product that could do a heck of a lot more for their popularity than a smattering of half arsed TV deals. Then again....maybe the NPPL and PSP are working on their own projects as well?

Just because a company has mad a bad game in the past dont knock them.
Lets look at the game this way it could open more doorways for another game to take the basics of this game and improve it but lets wait and see wot the game delivers before we start singing it praises or cussing it down :)

Games developers live and die by their track record and the track record of the developer in question is rather lack lustre. I have had very high hopes for a good paintball video game and I'm no knocking the developer, I'm just saying it doesn't fill me with confidence.

My problem is that video game publishers are very fickle bodies and if this product fails to capture the public's imagination in a way that other 'extreme' sports titles have then it is rather unlikely that others would be willing to stump up the cash that a more imaginative effort might require.

Why dont you then develop a game that are better?
Do all the stuff youre talking about with 3rd person.
And while youre on it choose a game developer that have "better" track record so we can be filled with confidence...

Works both ways wioth game developers though. Look at Driver 3!! First two superb... third one the worst game ever to be released!! :)

All comes down to how much time a company are given, or the budget they have. When cash drys up it is all too easy to just release a buggy game... personally I hope its delayed... to me its a good sign that they are trying to get it right :)

Aside from making a dog's dinner of my degree....that's what I've been trying to work on for the last few years. Unfortunately I lack the resources at present for the necessary development hardware and to hire the staff that I would require. My forte is in design and 3d moddeling so I personally wouldn't be able to deal with the engine creation. Although I have looked into licencing an existing engine such as Unreal or maybe even Renderware, this again would be at a great cost that I currently could not accommodate.

Magued, even so, it shouldn't be an issue of 'well if you don't like it you do it better'. I'm just concerned, a few years ago I really saw genuine potential in a paintball video game and what I have seen so far of this Xbox attempt hasn't seemed to capture much imagination. Instead from what I have gathered it is instead aping existing products such as Half Life's Digital Paintball. While enjoyable to a degree I just don't feel that they should allow the sports potential to be demonstrated to the mainstream as something that doesn't seem much more than a shoot-em-up.

In short, I am really looking forward to this game as it could provide the boost that PB needs to shove it into the mainstream and get the TV execs signing up. But I am concerned over quite a few factors which could jeopardise its success with anything more than the PB hardcore.
