Why? Just because the top teams are doing it doesn't mean that it's what everyone else wants, or what's best for the sport. Training for, and playing X-Ball is the only way to be successful in X-Ball, not whether or not you play 5-man. And if X does come to be next year, it's going to be extremely limited as to who can play, even if there is Div I. Speaking for myself, I'll take 7-man over 5-man any 'ol day of the week.
And therefore, playing 5-man will not prepare you for X-Ball. It's not the same style of game, or the same mindset, it's just the same number of people on the field.I don't think teams would play 5-man in the same style of X-ball
