WHy spend **** loads on a "top end gun" when u can have a gun that is light, small and fast but at a damm good price?!?

And just look for deals on the net or on the forums! be sure to pick up an ion bargain!
Surely i was the one that quoted 99% of the people owning ions THAT I KNOW: not 99% of people owning ions that you know!?

Lets put it 1 way, i know several people have sent their guns to local techs because smartparts tell them that the warrenty only covers them for so many repairs in the year!
So please don't try and defend a ****e budget marker with your stupidity!

i got the same view as cash

theres bout 10 ions in my team alone, not a single person has had a problem with it, in last training we had ****e paint everyone else with 'high end' gats had problems whereas all the ions kept going all day,
ions are a bit like marmite, you either love them or hate them

:p

Well i have to say i fall into that percentage becayse i was nieve in thinking like most people that i could buy a tournament level marker at a bottom price.
as a paintball noob i purchased the best marker for my money (that's all it is), so i got myself an ion. The problems started when i took it out of the box and tried to switch it on: nothing happened.
I have had my ion now 8 months and it has been back to Smart Parts 4 times now, for various reasons.
From my experience i wouldn't recomment them to anybody.

if you were offered a joy fly free or an ion free (and no im not offereing) which would you take.

Yes the angel! if you've got the cash and you want to spend it all on a gat then i would try and get the most for my money. the joy fly would need no ups but the ion would need many to reach the level of the joy

The way i see it,

Ion £180
new feedneck £25
New barrel/s £30
new on/off and rail £30
inevitably new body £27

total £292

Just spend the few extra quid now and buy a top of the range marker second hand.

not even necessarily mine!!
very good point dusty + probly more on a good barrel for the ion mb £50 - 60.

I'm not arguing how reliable the ion is but i don't agree with the statement that its a top end gun? Would you buy one for £800 or would you get an ego?

just my 2 pence

this is what started the thread off, if he wasn't looking in the second hand market with £250 to spend then i would recommend an ion, because like wrath13 says it's the best marker out there for the price (new).
However, as he DOES seem to be looking in the second hand market, with £250 to spend, i and i'm sure many other people will recommend something other than the ion (maybe a cocker or an angel)

I totally agree with you 100% on the last comment, but i don't recall anybody saying it's a top end gun. Anyhows i spent £900 on a speed 05 about 12months ago and the ion didn't even come into the equation, thats how i see top and low end markers.

Why do people buy skoda rather than ford??

they do the same job, one is cheaper and one won't last as long as the other, one is easier to fix, more people have more knowledge on the better one.

(pardon me using skoda and ford, i had a mental block)
