My oldest boy had a morning paper round (paid more than the evenings) and got £20 for 7 days work. He's now got an job on Saturday nights washing up in a restuarant, £25 for 5 hours work.

So the north south divide on paper round prices wasn't such a big thing!! I was doing mine round Stoke . . strangely enough live in London now!

Yeah £7 for carrying friggin 100 papers rain or snow! ooh buying singles on vinyl . . i remember the days!

I did evening papers there was no way on the planet I was getting outta bed at 6am . . . specially at the weekend!!!

No? you now do that in order to get to a tourniey and back in the same day and then you realise your paying for the privilage as well.

Oh and Bird, cocker-rules says hes got £15 burning a hole in his pocket and you've got first dibs on it. what ever that means??

Paper rounds,

Deliverd 300 Macclefield Messengers for £10 basic (more if they had leaflets) used to take about 4 hours
Also worked at a chippy peeling spuds for £5 a night, Was about 15 and earning £35 a week.
When I started my first 'careership' I was on £45
