Cultural barbarism seems to rule all over this thread. I have read endless lists of movies and numerous booktitles and found not even one remotely interesting.

As far as movies are concerned this is the list to end all lists:

Dokter Pulder zaait papavers
Wat zien ik?
Soldaat van oranje
Een vlucht regenwulpen
Een vrouw als Eva
De noorderlingen
Mama is boos
Turks fruit
De onfatsoenlijke vrouw
Bij de beesten af

Buddha 3 and 4 - you just have to go and be awkward, don't you!

In no particular order:
The Matrix
The Fast & The Furious
Romeo Must Die
Leon – I believe it was called ‘The Hitman’ or similar when released in the states.
Gladiator
Lock Stock
Fight Club
Seven
Devils Advocate
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The Big Lebowski – a laugh
Fargo – I like the Coen Brothers
Gross Pointe Blank
Blade – great action
Shawshank Redemption – genius
Papillion
The Green Mile
The Bond Films
Scarface - oh yeah, now that's a film!
True Romance

There’s no way you can forget ‘American History X’ though, that was great.

I think I read somewhere that Vin Diesel did the Giant's voice.... – I think I did too. Pretty weird imagining the bloke from TF&TF in the Iron Giant!

My fav book at the mo. And in the last while has to be – Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy, absolutely brilliant!

Nothing else jumps out at me for now....
