stop trying to get him to sell his marker for less than its worth - it wont be available forever, but another one will crop up or he will find another marker that takes his fancy and you never know by that time they might have depreciated in value cos people like you go yea - needs shifting you need to sell it before the other guys, stick up for a stupidly low price.

a marker is only worth what people are willing to pay.
True some with more useable income will be able to pay more.

if someone needs to sell to buy then it's a fact of life that the price will have to come down faster than if you are just selling as you know longer need the item.

it's all down to the seller and how much the are willing to come down.
You get people who set a price and stick to it _fair play to them and yes at some point a buyer should come along and purchase the marker. it will take alot longer if there are simalar items at lower prices.

i'd love to buy a marker knowing it will be worth a smialar amount in a year or two (some markers do this) but i know most will have a huge drop in price as soon as the new model comes out.

the price you stated was not necessarily what people are willing to pay, yes of course they are willing to pay low prices, but you will find they are also willing to pay up higher prices.

this is more to do with businesses but its the same principle.

If you had a budget of £350.

there were two markers one at £220 the other at £300

the first at £220 got bought before you got to it. now there is only one left. The market for that product is then pretty inelastic so becuase you want it you would buy it at £300.

you have £50 left - this is known as consumer surplus. dont know why i put that in i just did.

i find the best way to sell a marker is when someone posts a wanted - as that way they have the money at hand and there isn't any marker already out there that they can buy.

I feel that DM prices have hit really low times as there seems to be an ego frenzy atm.

put a price above what you want for it by about twenty to 50 pound and people offer below so you get around the price you want. if you put it up for £350 i would offer £300 where as if you put it up for £300 i would offer £250 if you know what i mean thats what i do if i ever sell it. a bit sneaky but then you dont feel as bad when you get low ballers and you never know you might get more than what you wanted

if i was selling a marker and didn't need the cash for something else i'd look at the current market , see whats on offer and see how better/worse i feel my gun is worth. then list it for the amount i want.

there are some DM5 going for about £130ish but i would sell mine for less then £160 as i feel mine is in great condition etc.

If i was in a rush to get cash i might have to match the prices others are selling for
