Once I get a spare 8 grand I'll start bringing a camera jib for events :) I've always thought that what videos really lack is a sense of communication and teamwork (like Care_Bears was saying) - one player in focuse, whilst looking nice, doesn't give a sense of the team that is actually playing. Would a large amount of talking/shouting (like the above video, where you can hear the guns and shouting) give a more realistic sense of being there, or would that just put you off watching the video?

Still looking for soundtrack/artist suggestions :)

I want to see more people diving, mugging, sliding, breaking out and running. All put to dubstep, or rock. Especially when the track doesn't follow what's happening in the video, or vice-versa. We've never seen that before.

What I want to see is more behind the scenes footage. The recent der der videos following infamous, heat and dynasty were fantastic. It shows the politics involved, and the effort that they put in. CustomPB did a few decent ones following nexus and some SPL/divisional teams. I want to see where teams started, where they are now, how they got there, what sacrifices they made along the way. Those are the truly good videos. Like I've mentioned, the recent DerDer ones, heroes for a day, ect

big difference between a documentary and a simple tournament mix video. requires a lot of time and effort over a long period of time to put those sort of videos together. no holds barred of course I was equally impressed with the custompb work so would be good to see more.

in the meantime though, i'll be happy to see some of the more simple aspects implemented that were mentioned already.
I think if you are going to include some raw sound, it needs to be balanced out with some music to break it up.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's harder work. But I can't honestly say that I enjoy watching 3,4 or sometimes 5 minutes of people sliding into bunkers with some dubstep thrown over the top. It's boring as ****.

Maybe a video following the tournament instead of teams then, if it's too much "effort" to follow teams

Any sort of boobs in particular gommie? I can always see what I can do...

Dave284 - What exactly do you mean by following the tournament? Like, a sequence of events throughout the day or each match, condensed and edited? As far as following teams go, that does take a whole lot of effort - and a team who'd allow me to do it. I have no problems with following a team, much like CustomPB(although, for interviews - a tripod will be used. That was the only thing that really annoyed me with those videos.) - I'd just need a team that acutally wanted following and accepts that the camera is there to capture everything. If someone is having a bad day, and that is a strong supporting factor in the film - it would be left in. Same goes for epic moves. Having a camera on you at some of the tensest moments on field becomes less of a novelty, and more of a "get that camera out of my face" time.

Also - slow-motion will hopefully be coming at you at a glorious 220 frames per second. Now I just need to figure out how to boost the ISO...

You'd be surprised actually :) I did approach a few teams, and the overall response was "ummm.... sounds nice....." and zlich after that. If there are teams willing to be followed by me and my camera, by all means I'd be happy do so, but there is always the cost for transport to me (still saving for a car), which limits me to Staffordshire/Cheshire really.
