You're sitting by the netting, watching a game, and u spot a break on a player's pack - but the nearest judge has missed it because he's currently checking another player.

It's only a small break - hardly any shell, almost a glancing one as the disintegrating ball flies on, there's barely any noise and it's not a self check zone.

The opposing player who made the "elimination" has also missed it, so he's not shouting "Check 'im!"

You don't know either of the two teams playing, nor the judge. The judge on the tower has also missed it, and it's the opposite side of the field where he wouldn't see it anyway.

As it happens, the "eliminated" player makes a difference to the outcome of the game.

As a spectator, what is the correct course of action? :D

Cool - so what if the player had noticed the break, but looked up to see the judge had walked away to check a team-mate? A quick swipe with the elbow and he keeps playing... do u say anything then?

This is all just hypothetical by the way... a result of a boring day at work and my mind wandering... :D

Plums--since your hypothetical states "and u spot a break on a player's pack", not "u see a ball break" nobody outside the game has any business interfering in any way, shape or form with the progress of the game in play.
Why is your judgement from the sidelines, particularly if you didn't actually see the ball break, to be relied on or even paid any heed whatsoever?

it annoys me when you see players blatently cheeting, i think there should be spectator judges, who can tell the marshalls stuff, just un bias people who like to watch, but are officially 'spectator marshalls', or something!?!
saw some guy at the m25 get shot like 3 times nicely on the back, and play on, and then go on to win the game. and lots of wiping etc.
we just need an un bias 3rd opinion. or more honesty in the game:rolleyes:

Ok, I typed that wrong - I meant to say "u spot a ball break" - visibly, like no mistake, it hits, it marks, it spatters in a cloud of paint behind him as it skims past. The concept was that a spectator sees the break, but the judge doesn't.

I'm not arguing either way... I was just wondering... :D

if a player is hit in such a place, where they dont know, its down to the marshall to make the call.
if you see a player wipe, its down to you, whether you go towards his team mates and make them aware of it, or go to the player and make him aware you know, is up to what kinda person you are.
personally i would probably approach the player and mention it and tell him its not what we wanna see in the sport and it had better not happen again.
i'll stop now before i start babbling on and contradicting myself

what is hard is stopping yourself shouting out, or trying to let a marshall know when you are spectating, i know it shouldnt be done, but when they are blatently cheating, or if the marshall checks a player and misses the big splat on his visor, it just really annoys me. especially being a marshall at a site, you kind of find yourself sub conciously starting to shout!
