Its possible on most Vb boards so I don't see why this one would be different!

1--I mean the number of threads moved about in the last week in insane.
2--The thread QP mentioned was locked because 2 posts were off topic.
3--Is this meant to be a "community" forum, or a restricted chat area. where all posts are moderated and then accepted or declined by the godly powers that be?

4--if the contents of the thread offended (and looking back, if read wrongly my last post could be seen as offensive, even if not intended) then delete the specific post and warn the poster!.

5--i understand that there have to be rules. but its gone from a little bit of a relaxed atmosphere, to bloddy alcatraz overnight.
1--yeah, they probably should have been tossed instead. ;)
2--no, it was closed because it was turning into what literally dozens of other threads over the months have turned into and as Sparklie now has her own loverly little Forum for precisely such threads that's where they belong.
3--yes, an international community--not a private club. And all posts are moderated, more or less, and surprise, surprise, your posts are still here. (see below:D )
4--do you imagine that doesn't happen all the time already?
5--your post is still here, isn't it?!

We do that too. But how long before that degenerates into "Why'd you delete my post when his post was just as bad?" or, "she started it, delete her." At some point a line gets drawn and it ain't ever going to be a straight line 'cus we really do try to give everyone their say. And that is precisely why this issue pops up periodically, because there are users who abuse their privileges instead of making even a tiny effort to keep things running smoothly with as little interference as possible from the Mods.

Personally I think the forums go to rat sh!t when the Mods relax on their moderating.
The bottom line is that there are rules to follow and if you dont like the rules then find somewhere else to post. Almost every other PB forum is a lot stricter than this one so we should be thankful that we have somewhere like this to post.

I don't want to offend any one here to start with but the problem as I have seen it usually arises from the newer and younger element of users. From time to time we have all been guilty of going off topic. Hence why this situation will always keep rasing it's ugly head. Sorry TJ but unless you do work to 0 tollarance this is to be expected.

I hope my forum has not caused offence we have had forums now for a year just not always let the general public play with them. Not so much fun but way tidier.

I have very much enjoyed the time I have spent posting here and made some really good friends and learnt loads it's even imporved my typing speed and spelling (honest I dod try)

I am aware that how shall we put this accademy / site related threads can and do get very chatty. It would be appreciated to still get feed back and pose questions to this and other events that happen on site. Yes we are a hugging site as home to the southern chicks it's inevitable it's also a very freindly site. The staff of P8 are all very welcome to attend an accademy you were all invited to the VIP launch at the time.

I am aware only a small number of individuls chat in the threads but the accademy dose have well over 100 members now and far more visting guests.

I shall continue to endever to post informative threads and try to make them more thought provoking.

ps Bacca secret suprise party sonds great hint hint just tell liz were and when ;)

To Sparklie, and all people organising similar things,

We understand that it's imperatove that you get feedback on the events you host. And we don't have a problem with that at all. It would however be very easy for you to launche a thread in your own forum, and perhaps posting a link to that thread on this forum, that way you'd still get what you want, and these boards don't get too chatty. I don't see any reason why any of the people behind p8ntballer would have a problem with your forums, most of us probably even welcome their existence.

I do however not agree with what you say about the problem being mostly new guys on this forum. A lot of it comes from people who have tremendous post counts, and have been active members for quite a while. Yet somehow they only post in a very select number of threads, which hardly ever are really about paintball.

The forum seems to be no different that when i joined, it just seems that the mods are just cracking down now, don't know why but its only started in the last 1-2 weeks. I used to tend to go off topic every now and then but thats pretty much eneded now and i stick to the techroom. It seems to be the only sensible forum remaining where self moderation actually works.

One quick question, i guess p8ntballer wants all the traffic they can get, now if you start going nazi(i know you're not, but many will think so) then you will start turning people away and the amount of posting at the forum will go down. Is this what is wanted?
