Truth be known, the rest of the team had no problem with it, so now you know who to blame.
Probably a good call, R. That target market isn't well known for it's ability to make subtle distinctions or perceive irony or satire. Odds are it would have been almost universally misunderstood--at least by that impressionable age group.
I must also, having now read most of this thread, revisit a couple of recent bits that were bandied about--
The Duffinator vs. Robbo--wherein the Duffinator is in a very dicey position. BL says I don't like Eskimos, Duffinator replies I don't like you 'cos you said you don't like Eskimos. Where's the difference? Is is OK to hate if you're being specific about it? Or have a good reason? And does either opinion really matter as long as neither one is acted on in a criminal or anti-social way?
Also, are we really talking hate here or simply a matter of predisposition? If I say I hate Twinkies what does it matter to anyone as long as I don't go out and start trashing Twinkie displays at the supermarket?
The object of the PC crowd isn't to make the world a nice shiny place, it's to silence everybody who has a view or opinion they don't approve of and starting down that road is a very slippery slope.
The Biggest, Baddest Dwarf in the Whole Enchanted Forest
Btw, over here the bastions of PC are the universities. How's that for irony?
