Was it gunpowder? Or was it propellant...propellant looks like little slivers, usually circular...gunpowder is powder, very black (hence black powder)
The difference is..gunpowder is an explosive, propellant is fast burning...

Get the really strong ones for anal sex, F3Z will have some...they stretch very nice and you can get them about 4 foot high and a foot thick....tie some string to it, with some sort of fuse..a nice smearing of vaseline on the bottom and a long bit of bogroll stuck to it works...tie the string off..light it..step back a way... you could stand near it...but the pronblem is you wouldnt be able to breath...i did it one summer in some woods..really dusty mud floor, when it went, you get a really good boom...and a whoosh...wher it burns all th eoxygen aroun it...it sucks up all the dust into the air in a column..really impressive...

USE VERY CAREFULLY!!!!!!!

Get a bulb..start with a normal torch bulb and work your way up.
get a sheet of fine grit wet and dry....
Rub the top of the bulb around and around on the wet and dry until it wears a small hole in it....
get a shotgun cartridge...cut the top off..empty the shot..pull out wad ,,,,empty contents into a pestle an mortar...gring this up into dust....pour in to top of bulb...obviously as you increase bulb size you will need more powder..

Cover the hole with Bostick or some other sticky gooey gluey stuff...
Works well in Dynamo's on bikes...torches too..however..make sure the torch isnt given to your unsuspecting victim in a light place as they will shine it at their face to test it..not gonnna be funny...

car bulbs work better....household bulbs are really good...really brings the roof down that one....

Hee - on the subject of burning things, get a light-bulb holder - the kind with a fitting that lets you screw it directly to your ceiling.

Place it facing up on the ground.

Get some mercury (an old thermometer will do - not the alcohol kind) and put it in the "cup" that normally holds the bulb.

Now get a REALLY LONG extension cable, and wire it altogether.

Switch on. VOILA! Instant fireworks. Kinda. Followed by burning and sirens... :D

im sensing a few pyromaniacs in this thread.

my mate did a really stupid thing and found a large coke bottle and filled it with many many items like petrol, batteries, basically anything you can imagine being dangerous when heated.

after filling the thing, he managed to get a complete fuse from paintball smoke bomb without breaking it. this was then randomly tied to any old piece of string which had been doused in more flammable liquids.

now we all thought he would just admire it, not actually light this, but having been kicked out of school for doing the aerosol + lighter flamethrower in class, and also 'accidentally' lighting a tap in the chem lab with a bunsen burner, hes got a few screws loose.

queue a trip to the local park at 11pm. well all of us sensing that this blatently isnt clever, and there could be many projectiles, we ran about 100metres away from him while he lit the string and pegged it.
it was like a scene from pearl harbour, we just see a huge explosion with his sillhouette running from it.
needless to say we all scarpered before any bomb squad turned up.
left a nice crater in the middle of the cricket square :D
