Can we assume this won't be the case at Campaign?
No, it won't be.

To be fair - as soon as Adam Stocks and Steve Baldwin heard about people being stopped for water, that was quickly fixed

. . . remember this is the same security team that, as far as I gather, took pretty good care of everyone's equipment (I haven't seen any missing/lost/stolen posts). Guys, the security team did their job, and a darn good one at that!

Congrats to Steve for a tight secure ship!

What amused me was that Steve Baldwin was unable to gain access to the players staging area when he tried. He was told by the security people that he had to get a card if he wanted to get in!:p

Security is always a matter of compromise. As things get safer, they also get less liveable and free. The most secure players area would be radioactive enough to kill cockroaches. Nothing would be stolen from them, as nothing could enter or leave.

Congratulations on the very real achievement of not having theft occur. That is difficult to manage, and it sounds as though the security people were serious and professional.

It also sounds as if the player's health was compromised in achieving that goal. More finesse is definitely called for.

I would not play in a tournament that prevented me from having a sufficient water supply. It is dangerous, exploitive, and evil: you don't ransom someone's health to make expenses.
