OCZ fan myself, anyway better stop the talking

PROTO can i ask what you mainly intend on using the ram for? As buying something now may not be the best of ideas. It might be better to save for some high performance ram :)

Much as it pains me to see this, unless your into the high end of overclocking and gaming ect, generic brand ram will do for most people who only play casual games and surf the net.

Why? Because only the people who know how to change the settings in the bios properly can make use of the "good stuff" so to speak. Should Proto be doing this he would know that waiting for some more money to buy some good stuff would be the option :)

Using it for gaming.

Im Currently running on a

2.8ghz P4
7600gt
1 gig ram

And im planning on getting a 8800, so that i can play next gen games at there best, benefiting from DX10 too(once ive purchased vista).

But would like some ram first, just to give my games a little boost in performance before the next wave of games come.

I like to play the latest games, and am looking forward to such games as Crysis and Unreal Tournament 3.

Well ive overclocked my card, in the process of overclocking my CPU. I read PCGAMER UK and theres an issue that shows you how to overclock everything.

So it shouldnt be a problem. RAM is pretty simple to overclock by the looks of it.

Overclockers is probally your best bet for RAM. Just get some Ballistix stuff and your be laughing.

GFX Card wise....your 7600 is probally a bit outdated now but with Unreal Tourny 3 and Crysis still a while away I would hold on to your money for the moment and wait for the Ultra's to drop down.

Overclockers is generally overpriced compared to Scan.co.uk.

PROTO:

Is yoru 2.8 P4 Socket 775?

You really need some decent cooling, Asus Arctic Square Pro for example and decent TIM, as teh P4's get very hot mate.

Dont over volt to much.

Is it 850 HT or whatever they are called?
