I shall read more of Baca's postings and see what else I can learn from the master... might come in useful one day:)

Baca, you really do spout some crap sometimes, which is OK, everyone is entitled to in an open forum... my only worry is that some people might actually start believing the garbage you churn out.

Come on then, lets have it, this first hand information and the source from whence it came as to why the Brit refs were selected for the Pro X-ball?
Jesus Hatts how dare anyone disagree with you!

Baca go stand in the corner and think about what you have done, should not take long!

I am shocked, shocked, I say-that it took you this long to respond with the usual hysterics. I must say I'm truly disappointed that I've had to wait nearly a week for the trickle of righteous outrage to flood the forum.

Did the local constabulary nab you in your raincoat watching the schoolkids again?
Now that, is a totally unfounded rumor. (I hope.)

When I said the English refs were moved to the PSP field for other than their skillz it is 100% accurate and correct. It was done because Dynasty complained about the refs who were there prior to their first match against RL. At the time I was told those responsible made no comment on the competence or lack thereof of the English refs regarding xball. That opinion was mine alone and opinion is what it was.
As noted elsewhere I am normally both opinionated and hard to please (and from reporting elsewhere it seems the English lads did a solid job at 5-man) so it should not come as a surprise I thought their Xball reffing was marginal from what I observed. I have seldom seen Xball reffing I thought was better than marginal as the officiating continues to lack coordination, at all levels, and in Xball most of the time the refs do not have full knowledge of the rules such that they can make consistently correct calls in a timely fashion. Again, my opinion--but I have, on more than one occasion, corrected head refs during Xball matches. (Not that it did any good. And yes, I was right. As usual.) :p :D

As to the veracity of my claim you can believe it or not as you wish. I don't feel compelled to prove anything to you--or anyone else.

Wad--as to guys in funny hats and green, bell-dangling whatevers, it was not one guy. It was numerous guys, they were working the PSP field, they spoke with English accents and I have pictures of them--not taken by me. Unless you've started awarding silly hatts (did I misspell that?) as signs of officiating prowess in the MS and didn't tell anyone.

Perhaps some of the refs involved could come on here and describe what they were wearing while officiating--or would that be too ridiculous?

Not something that you would ever do is it Hatts?.....

Thankfully you never feel the need to spout crap in order to make yourself feel important:rolleyes:

And it's 'rumour':p

My understanding is that it was done because they were more competent than most of the other fields, as foreigners they didn't have the stamp of possible bias and because it was the beginning of a scheme to rotate the three "foreign" squads around and mix-n-match to get the best possible reffing for the finals.

I thought that was the case too until I asked Alex Fraige directly and he said no. I think he would shoot me straight. In fact some of the blue boys thought we had it in for them because we believed they asked for us not to ref. We got that resolved and Dynasty and RL seemed to be pleased with the officiating.

BTW, did you see the final two pro Div X Ball games, Baca?

And the UK Refs all wore white T-shirts bearing the UK Ref name. I didn't notice their hats. We mostly wore stripes, except for the crazy Croatians.

Steve,
If I recall the days correctly the original move of English refs to PSP field was Thursday. That is what I've been referring to. Was also the day I saw a number of said refs wearing silly hatts, dangling bells, etc. If that wasn't their regular kit I can only offer a sigh of relief.

I watched most of final match between DynaKids and RL. Paid next to no attention to refs at that time so couldn't tell you what they were wearing.

As to the rest I'm sure everyone has a story. ;)

OK, but I'm interested in your story. If you didn't notice the reffing then does that mean it was good? C'mon. I'm interested in quality control.

EDIT ADDED: My only marginal interest in that match was to watch RL's lines play, sorry. Didn't pay attention to score, reffing or anything else in particular. TFP

PS--you have a pm.

My own world
None of the UK Refs (which I was one) wore a silly hat or wore anything with dangly bells at all, end of. If you saw them and they had an English accent then fine but they weren't part of the UK Refs team.

We were moved to the PSP X-Ball 1 field on Thursday this is correct, for what reasons I do not know nor do I care, we went to do a job which we did. I may note that Alex Fraige stood in front of me and asked why the refs had been changed when he was happy with the x-ball reffing on that field till then, bit odd if Dynasty were complaining about it.

No problem then kids. I will happily retract all statements about Englishmen in goofy attire. Somebody was wearing that stuff and I used it merely as a descriptive after hearing two or three of the refs speaking off field during a break.

As to the rest I always enjoy creative hate mail and am looking forward to some solid efforts. ;)

To all the UK refs at World Cup I hope you enjoyed your trip to Florida and had a good time while you were here.
