The problem with some stickers are from a distance they can look like a hit, the last thing a marshall needs to do is keep checking a guy with a hopper hit, which turns out to be a sticker. A marshall has a right if they want, that if the sticker looks like a hit and some are designed to look like paint splats, to ask the player to remove it before next game. Most of time it is down to player/marshall common sense.
