We just need to raise awareness of paintball in general, as I said earlier in this thread. Not just tourney, but walkon's, scenario, big games etc. The more people we have participating in every aspect of paintball the better it will be for everyone involved. Word of mouth will spread faster etc etc.

I proposed that we made some kind of promotional booklet that 'ballers could hand out either just in the streets or at local sites with information and photo's from various types of 'ball. Contact details for sites/shops/websites etc

It wouldnt make a change happen overnight, but it'd be a start.

yea but that kind of stuff costs money and making a booklet aint cheap and atm i dont have the funds to donate to a project like that.

And then there are site owners would they really care about our sport, as long as they are making there money do they care if they make professional paintballers?? i would think not, but thats just me maybe i am wrong

...much as pissing in the sea would Andy......it needs clout to get this going, real clout and that sorta clout, both financial and expertise, is wholly within the domain of the corporates.

I had a quote from a printers that I used to put a lot of business through when I was doing music promotion. Would have cost under a grand for a run of 5000 full colour glossy booklets. I was going to ask the UK based companies that do sell/promote tourney stuff to donate money towards it in exchange for having adverts in the booklet. Even if a couple of percent of those 5000 that were handed booklets got interested and bought kit from one of the stores advertised they'd easily make their investment back.

Dusty, I have done my bit mate....and then some......all I care about is tourney ball, I don't give two shiits for the majority of our site owners and if after I have highlighted a problem, come up with examples of practicable options, provided a working blueprint as to get things going, you think I am then gonna go spoonfeed these guys???
Dusty, it's not as if I can go and change in a phone box and fly out with my cape fluttering behind me ...... FFS someone else do something about it but telling me ballers are gonna do is like telling me King Canute had a chance.

This now has to come from the industry (finance and resources, I have neither) themselves...end of !!!

And as for me wanting anything perfect.....I'm a pragmatist Dusty not an idealist !
fair enough. the industry is only concerned with one thing. MONEY. players in general want everything handed to them on a plate, and more importantly a lot of people think it is their RIGHT to have this, without actually doing anything for the privilege.

unfortunately that seems to be the great British mentality, so a message to everyone reading, get ready to be left behind by the rest of the world. tourney ball in this country will only get more expensive as it fizzles away into nothing.......................that is unless you can do something to help yourselves. if every tourney baller introduced just one single person to the sport the pool would double. and so on down the line.

if you can't introduce one person you don't really get out enough.

Dont you think robbo with (and this is just a start) that with your background, mine and andys and no doubt a few others contributions that this is a posistive step in the right direction? or do you firmly believe its like pissing in the sea? or is that wind ;)

Well, under a grand, dont think it would be that hard to raise that type of money

yea but only 5000, thats not very many at we should be looking at the places that have no sort of real paintball presence, say like N.Ireland, it might sound silly but if Dusty or any of the Escarmoche lads wanted to set a stall up in a town and show demos of what paintball is like i dont mind doing it, but would it really make a differnce? would people want to do something like that?
