"The NPPL asked Jim Drew, President of Wicked Air Sportz to attend a crucial rules committee meeting concerning rules for the 2003 NPPL season, with the emphasis on trigger bounce. After more than an hour of explanations and talk, the NPPL has decided that any form of trigger bounce is completely illegal. Previous events allowed an occasional double-shot due to marker recoil. This is no longer being allowed. "

All triggers, opto or magnetic or whatever can get 'bounce' due to the recoil of a gun if set short or light enough.

The above statement from the NPPL is again why I think we need to overview our rules and penalties in the Millennium.

I can get almost any gun to double fire occasionally if holding it lightly and pulling the trigger slowly.

That doesn't mean it should be cause for banning that player from an event though... which it currently is in the Millennium

In the USA it wasn't allowed on field, so you may end up going on a player short if you can't fix it which is a better answer I think.

People that intentionally used mods or FA should still be banned from events, but this is a different issue which I don't think should be lumped together.

one pull one shot isnt trigger bounce.... Trigger bounce is where you set your finger on the trigger in such away that the recoil of the gun will move the gun/finger sufficently enough that it will fire again ad infinitum...

It just happens to be very easy to get an RT to bounce, I tried manikes Emag and managed it first go ...

Manike, you are on something important here.

The rule about trigger bounce should be written better in the rules and there has to be an other option than just banning the player from the tournament.

While playing around with the eye modifications I've learnt so good in trying to get trigger bounce that I can pretty much say almost none of the electro markers would be allowed. Especially guns with larger recoil it is almost impossible to adjust the trigger so that you could never get two shots.

The whole rule is just hot air, the heads just talking to hear themselves talk. Why the heck do they think Raceguns and Intimidators sell? The name, the look, or the fact that ANYONE can get insane trigger bounce with them and buys them expressly for that purpose? You think they're going to just kick out a third to half of an event's entire participants?

I've probably said this a zillion times, but I'll say it again: Instead of making all these asinine, unenforceable rules, stop b*tching and just play the damn game. Got a problem with someone's equipment? Play better than them and get them off the field the real way instead of whining about their trigger settings.

Yes, of course you can make a trigger that will NOT give any bounce. But then you wont be able to shoot let say over 8-10bps either... (since the bounce delay will be so long that the complete cycle time ends up to something like 8-10bps)

And we also have to think about all those markers already out there.
