technically they are guns; the definition of a gun is: a weapon that discharges a missile at high velocity. a weapon is defined as: an instrument used for fighting. therefore paintball markers can be called guns. they cannot be called firearms, as a firearm is a kinetic energy weapon that fires either a single or multiple projectiles propelled at high velocity by the gases produced by action of the rapid confined burning of a propellant.

Thank you for swallowing a dictionary and pointing that out to me, My initial post was a hint of sarcasm to all the peops on here who rant and rave about it being called a marker not a gun. I dont give a sh!t what its called to be honest.
But next time a travel abroad with my gun and the check out staff ask me whats in my bag i will pull out your statement from my bag and tell them i have a gun in there too.
