Word.
I also feel like x-ball is the proper way of turning paintball in a similiar to other sports activity.
And I bet almost everybody would agree with this principle if they could see and breath the air on a x-ball event and compared with normal paintball event.
If I had the choice I'd rather go play x-ball than normal 7 man.
No more time waiting for the next game, no huge time waste waiting for the refs to check guns before each game, no armbands, no worries, just get on the field play the game and go home.
Promoter wise, one things is having 8 teams per field on a tournament paying a 1500 € (OXL last year), the other is having 25 (or more) teams per field paying 1000 € (or more).
Already using tons of cash on paint.
As usual the most interested party on having x-ball as to be the player/teams. Because the promoter can avoid a lot of headaches with the event itself, but he as to spend more money to set up.
But for the teams (european), it's already hard enough to get and keep a rooster for 7 man team that can afford the travelling and team expenses. So I don't think x-ball will have that much future in europe like it currently has on US.
In the end the players have to decide what they want to play.
The usual format, where a commom team mistake, player mistake, ref mistake/call, bad paint, bad play has effect on the outcome of the game. Or the player wants to play a game.
Sorry for the huge off topic.
