Chopping!
No worries and hope you get it sorted! After all....the A5 can be a lot of fun!
My friend had almost exactly the same problem using "recon camo" paint. I personally have no experience with the paint and it had been stored badly so I would imagine that made a difference.....although if anyone knows anything about this paint in general I'd be interested to hear it?
Anyway we rechrono'd his marker (it was previously been set to <280) and it had magically increased.....turns out that the FVA isn't all that tight a fit in the stock plastic power tube. We rechrono'd it back down to <280 and tested it with different paint (specops-good to be on the safe side!) and had no problems. I would imagine that the dodgey paint was the main problem but I spose the velocity increase could factor in to it. And anyway, playing with a hot marker isn't cool!
Hope this doesn't ruin his paintball experience!

N.B. The problem stated with the stock power tube isn't really a problem with A5s on the whole. I think it just must be machining tolerances that cause it to affect some and not others (My A5 has been trouble free since I got it a year ago.)
