I saw that, but then it bears to question if you ask a ref about a hit pod, showing him that it has paint on it BEFORE you pick it up, is that legal to use? See, tehn there's a chain of witnesses "I showed the ref the pod, it was hit before I picked it up. I was not carrying it when it was hit, and that ref can vouch for me."

There's no rule specifically saying that a hit pod is eliminated from the game, just that if a ref sees a hit on a pog, but didn't see the shooter hit the pod, and you HAVE said hit pod, it's assumed that you were holding it when you were hit holding it.

That's confusing.

I was curious about hits on pods. You'd expect that an empty pod that is tagged once discarded is irrelevant. Picking up a loaded pod with a tag on it? Could get grey. NZPPA rules (Which are basically Mil + NPPL rules) state:

A player is eliminated...:

Receiving a direct hit ... on his person or any part of his equipment be it attached or carried

...Now the pod didn't receive the hit when it was in the person's hand. I don't think most refs would know what to do if a player said "Hey ref. That pod has a tag on it. Can I pick it up?".

I would expect most people agree/understand that if a pod is hit while in your hand that you are eliminated, and that just because it is a pod and not "carried equipment" that it is not excluded for being hit until discarded. Mind you, unless the ref is on top of it, good luck getting someone out on a tagged pod.

Reloading...*Schmack*...Where's the ref...Drop pod ASAP...

On the subject of pods that have been shot - I was at the Euro indoor this year and this poor sod had one of the slam pod things where you just litterally 'slam' your pod into the top of your hopper, both open, the balls go in, and when you pull the pod away both seal up again. Pretty nifty - if it works. This guy went to reload and slammed it in slightly too hard with all of the adrenalin pumping - the darn thing got stuck and the player couldn't yank it out! What do you do? Well, he just played on for a few more minutes trying to progress up the field. All of us in the stands had our eyes locked onto this bloke just knowing the inevitable was going to happen, and what do you know - about 20 secs later, he's snapping out of a bunker and 'thwack' a gorgeous clean break right on the bottom of the pod (top part sticking out).
What can you do?? He hadn't discarded it and it was attatched to his gun, so he was outta there! Poor bugger!

Quite possibly - he was yankin' hard trying to get it out, but it sure as hell wasn't budging for him!

what if you got to a bunker a teammate had left an empty pot in. that pot had been shot before you got to the bunker. you throw the pot out of your way, to save kneeling on it or somethin. What would happen? eliminated for touching a shot pot?

or,

you have a chop or a smegged barrel. you stick your straight shot in, and BAMM you accidentally fire your gun, shootin your straight shot. you eliminated?!!?
