throwing pots?????

no problem with discarding pots (pods or whatever) or tossing or leaving full ones on the field for your other players. However, in situation Bud 3 mentions the other guy better not catch the pot that's been hit in the air otherwise he's out. During play of the game you cannot pick up an empty or full pot with a hit on it otherwise you are eliminated.
Really, the rules are quite simple, aren't they?

From what I remember in the Series 2002 events the rules state that a Pot full of paint is part of your gear so you cannot go more than 1m away from it.. the only way to exchange pots is to "physically hand the pot over" to a team mate.. NOT throw it.. but pass it like a batton.

Also, because it's part of your gear if it's hit you are eliminated. I remember getting someone out by hitting the bottom of his pot while he was filling his hopper. :)

If it's empty then it is not counted as part of your kit..

Not sure about half full (or half empty depending on your point of view).

Maybe Russel or Bully can enlighten us.

Rules

Millennium 2002 rules state that pods, hoppers, squeegies, clothing & cleaning rags are not classed as items of equipment. Also the distance, i believe, is 5 feet not 3. Pods of of paint can be passed between live players but once you're eliminated you cannot leave paint behind or pass anything to a teammate. I guess that could be exploited by feeling a hit then immediately passing your paint before you check it & call yourself out ?

I got cool idea.
this only works if u got multi-coloured pods.
While the marthals aint lookin shoot ur pod and chuck it to the side of an opposing player, then the martials will see it as theirs and not urs and the refs call em out weeeeeeeeeeee.

As in hell this would work :D :D

The things I'll do for you people...

Allright, Here are specific rules from the NPPL rulesheet, 2002.

(Edited for space not for content)
3.04. ...A player may be removed from the field for...abandonment of equipment (moving at least five feet away from such equipment), except pods used to carry paint and squeegees

5.31. Players may carry any number of pouches, clips or loaders.

5.51. Two live players may exchange equipment.

5.52. Players who are eliminated must exit the field with all equipment they were carrying when they were eliminated.

5.53. Players must carry all paint, gas and equipment to be used during the course of the game on their person at the start of the game.

10.25. Players that separate from any piece of equipment or clothing that they brought onto the game field by more than 5 feet, except squeegees, rags or pods used in holding paintballs will be immediately eliminated.

Now what's fun about all this is that I can't find a SINGLE RULE that says a player picking up a hit pod will be eliminated!

Try rule 10.21 which states that....."If a judge does not see a paintball shot by a live player ....strike a player or another object but that player has paint on himself or anything he is wearing or carrying that resembles a hit, such player will be eliminated." So i think the MRC has that one covered!
