Blah, nothing bad taken. Just had to iterate that point to whoever was reading this thread that hasn't been here long. If they only knew the power of the Dark Side

Yeah, I wish everyone on here could be as actually about posting entertaining, well thought out, and informative posts as we do. At some point they did, and I hope that all the threads like "Chat Forum" and other 5 word or less, less thought the better reply types get discontinued as quickly as possible and prevented where and when applicable.

As for myself, I'm no computer genius either, just someone used to scouring the Net, reading as much as I can, and speaking often, long, and loud. I also happen to like paintball, and want to try to see how far I can get in the sport, God willing. Yeah, I'm back to posting, though I don't know if I can consistently post like I did during the summer. Maybe one of these days they'll put us on the payroll for what we do.

Hmmm, after having read a few of these posts in this thread, I think I perhaps now appreciate something I had previously overlooked.
A community has developed on this board and basically this is a place where people can 'virtually' meet and discuss all matters, not just paintball.
I suppose, we at PGI, should be pleased because that is exactly what we set out to do when we opened up this site.
I think the only problem is, Rancid and others, including myself, maybe worried that this 'cliquey' type family thing we all got going may well put off some others from coming on board (pun intended .
On reflection, I think perhaps some people may have gone a bit over the top in some threads (as I am guilty of, just like others) but all in all, I quite like this board and the vast majority of people who post on it (except a couple of idiots from Jersey).
I can wake up in the morning, come down the stairs (I work from home) switch on my computer and get pissed off, laugh, wanna smash some fool's head in, wanna cry with disbelief, learn something, teach something, advise someone, destroy someone, make some people laugh, make some people believe I am the world's most arrogant dickhead, make some people wanna smash my head in (but they ain't got what it takes .............................and all in the name of paintball !!!
I love my job, I love this board

Dear Robbo

I too work from home and love this thread for exactly the same reasons.

All of us involved in the chat room thread have offered to give up our stars.

Not that any one's probalbly mentioned I quite often send messages of welcome to new members. They are very light hearted and explain that the slagging and bitching is harmless although it dose contain some grain of the truth and not to worry and happy posting.

I fully understand that this forum is of great benift for convaying a vast amount of really useful info and pooling brain power and idears from around the globe which can only be a good thing.

But also hand in hand it' an ice breaker at the party, all be it torney, a vist to a new site, shop, what ever. Let's face it it's the gossip and friendly bannter that makes the world go round.

I would hate to spoil that by over kill of gibberish.

Being completely facecious if you check the originators thread record he him self is involved in any number of such threads and or comments.

No offence meant but pot kettle glass houses........ lol

Hey Robbo...

How about having a "Best of the Board" column in PGI every now and then? A lot of questions and commentary about stuff that goes on in the paintball world get mentioned, asked, and answered here infinately faster than can be printed and distributed, and in some ways some issues that are addressed here are definately worthy of print, but the ideas best cranked in this fashion rather than simple 2 direction dialogue or sitting down and writing it out alone, often days after the even takes place. The printing of such would be much like the Say What? column that already is there, but in a much more open way: several replies or thoughts on a common issue, or a perspective that might not have come up unless it was in response to something spoken that sitting down to write a letter simply would have delayed response to the point of being pointless.

Though I'm certainly not an advocate of the shield of anonymity, it would seem that some of the more common posters here are better known in the paintball world by our nicknames than actual names, as many of us either don't have pictures in magazines or when we do it's with our masks on. When I walk on any other field than my home field or that of those who have been to it I often have to give both names to explain who I am!

I think, aside from Pete's pals from Jersey , that everyone gets along pretty well on the board, there are cliques, but there's no bullying. It does seem like it's been awhile since we've seen anything about paintball on the board though, and I think that's what Rancid was going on about, that's all. So try not to get too upset with him, see his momma didn't love him when he was a tot, so he takes his frustrations out on others in a sometimes hurtful, and violent way. The poor sap just doesn't know any better, pity him.

There have been a number of very valid posts in this thread. Even though this thread is only marginally paintball related, I'm happy to see it on this board. So I want to give props to the people that had the guts to state their opinions, even though they ran a risk of being austricised for it (hope I spelled that right). Also, respect to the people that had the coolness to reply with reason. This thread could have easily turned into a slanging match.
You would have never guessed, but I quite like this board too. As a matter of fact, I do some posting on other forums too, but this is the only paintball related one that I post on. (the others are for other hobbies and pastimes that I have/do, such as mudwrestling with naked girls.....)
