Then you're all seeing things!

Think about it, how can it have more range?

If it were really true why aren't we all running around with 20"+ barrels???

Don't make be find, copy and paste the physics crap at you cos I really can't be arsed.

if physics actually applied to paintballs rifled barrels would work

and some people do have long barrels

it's all about guidance with the front ported part, the longer the ball is guided for the longer it seems to stay stable after it is released

it's also about bleeding off the turbulance caused by the cloud of expanding gas behind the ball

tell me if barrels make no difference, have you ever used the stock barrel from a 90's cocker?

physics actually does apply to paintballs, which is exactly why rifled barrels don't work well, as you said. Paintballs are generally inconsistent in size and shape, so the spinning caused by a rifled barrel actually reduces accuracy.

Longer barrels tend to require more air to get a ball's speed up to the same fps as with a shorter barrel. Longer barrels reduce efficiency, all other things being equal.

I don't think anyone would say barrels make no difference (did I just waste the $200 I spent on a Freak?). However, beyond a certain length, adding inches to your barrel won't make you a better shooter.....but, it will put a smile on your girlfriend's face.:D
