Just to add a little more substance to my post.

Den, the only, only way you were getting outranged is either:
i.They were running a higher velocity then you (most likely)
ii. They were using a flatline or some other device that puts backspin on the ball.

Flatter tradjectory? no, just no!

Accuracy = by-product of consistancy.

hmmm, i really think i'm less of a moron than you guys give me credit for, mant markers certainly seem to shoot flatter than cockers, hell the automag is a perfect example (mind you they don't shoot very far)

i'm looking for a less less of a"drop off" at the limit of it's range

oh and how is a race frame gonna make me shoot further?

used a e-blade i borrowed last weekend and to be honest i'm thinking these markers have gone too far alrady, but that's another post

and how the hell does this affect kittens?

The race frame won't help you shoot any further and I think thats the point! As said turn your velocity up closer to 300. If you can't because you get the odd hot shot then you need to look at getting better consistancy.

All balls shot from at the same fps at the same angle will go the same distance and at the same tradjectory, that is baring a few exceptions (flatline/anything that puts a spin on the ball.

Question Den. In your opinion which shoots further a spyder or a cocker?

p.s. no-ones calling you a moron, just a little mis-informed. :)

really? next you'll be saying barrell length makes no difference?

i realise consistency would allow higher velocities, as my cocker is mostly evo and all set up by dangerous brian i don't have that problem (well it gets the occasional low velocity shot every now and again, but thats paint id say)

virtually every test I've seen shows that barrel length makes very little difference in terms of accuracy.

and from what i've seen, spyders seem to have a little less range and are less accurate
I can't see how two balls (same weight) both leaving the barrel at 300 fps can travel different distances, unless of course one has spin on it (flatline, etc...). The physics of it don't make sense.

On the other hand, I can see that a marker with a very consistent reg and a good paint to barrel match might be more accurate than a Spyder with a cheap/inconsistent reg and a stock barrel.

Absolutley, so Den the q goes back to you what velocity are you shooting? Another thing to be aware of is 'perception'.

And barrel length it makes bugger all differance in range as long as you have a good 7" of unported barrel.

These rumours have to come to an end..... or do they hang on I sell the Excalibur, that's closed bolt so's a cocker, costs $500 more then the Viking..... Damn, I've been 'pushing' the wrong marker!!!!

well i've experimented with 4 different front lengths on my freak and i know a 10" has about 15 foot less range than the 14" one, and i have witnessses too!
