Analogys are cool. :D

What I'm saying is the spark plug blew up in this instance and took the majority of the feul, and cylinder block with it. Replacing the spark plug might get it running, but blow up other components if tried.
And your letting a crap mechanic ad-aware make the judgement call.

Good practice is having a 2nd HD as a backup drive, and keep your important documents on that and run your operating system drom your primary.

You can clone your drivers to DVD's using Ghost and a burner. Right from a fresh format with all the neccessary drives, patchs, programs is a good time to do it.

:D

Ive always found Norton Antivirus is alot like a hungry hungry hippo ... and Kernel 32 Dll (v v important to your life) is one of those white balls the hippos like so much.

But thankfully, the white ball is just out of reach, because its not quite that hungry yet ... so your computer works ... but that hippo is still licking its lips ... for days, months, seconds ... untill one day, you turn it on and Kernel32.dll is already a steaming pile of hippo crap and your computer doesnt work.

And while it was funny for a few seconds that norton classified windows as a virus, i never used it again.

Anyways ive found a good source of help is google, if you search for a phrase like "help some cock infected my computer" you can check discussion forums, someone is bound to have the same problem as you. They have helped me out alot, and there has only been one problem that i was the first person to bring it up, and the first person to fix it, and it was EAs fault :).

I only had an A500, but it still rocked!

I've used a few different flavours of Linux, and Ubuntu and Gentoo are the best. Easy to install (from a Live CD, can be used from boot, or can be installed if you wish). Will dual boot very easily! Have great driver support and it's all free! :D

Symantec are the makers of Norton Plus just about every virus/trojan etc that is released onto the ether is designed to get round said av/fw as it is the most popular av/fw software in the world, ergo the scum bags get to infect more computers. Personally I'd never touch Norton, tried it once and found a wet Rizla paper was better at protecting my pc that Norton was.
Besides - who do you think release these viruses in the first place. why, could it be the very people who make the AV protection......................?

Self fullfilling prophecy - good business if you can get it :)

NOD32 (with auto update on)
Outpost firewall
Adaware SE run once a week
Spybot as a back up to get anything missed (rare)
Not looking at warez sites
Not looking at pr0n sites
Not using Kazza-esque programmes

That'll stop most stuff. How they got your ebay account details: The possibilities are endless but I'd change your passwords for all your login websites and bank details, but from another computer!

Info about the IP address:

Might want to drop them a line, but it's not worth it as if they are even slightly competent they'll have an IP spoofer
