The ratio between the cost of living and both the average & minimum wages are better in the US. Although they have a greater proportion of their population living below the poverty line. So for the majority it is better, but in the end someone is paying the price.

Paintballing in the states is a hell of alot cheaper...fact.

Prices of equipment is cheaper aswell as paint thats why rental sites over there can afford to be hella cheap. Land is more available in the sates and in some parts cheaper. Paintball is also alot more popular so there is more competition aswell as a steady flow of costomers all year round. Rec ball sites have little business in winter apart from really large ones with a big encatchment area IMO.

Not so. The cost of basic foods is higher in the states as are their prices of meat. It is actually cheaper to eat out than buy and cook.
Example basic store brand bread, last time I was there was over $2.50 (£1.34) and fresh meat prices, just silly. Hard goods are mostly cheaper there, only because of the VAT and import duty we have to pay.
On the whole, recreation=cheap.
Everyday living=expensive.
Although back on topic rec balling is very cheap out there.

If you just change the $ to £, that's about a typical UK price apart from buying paint by the case - a rental customer will be lucky to get a case of 2000 for under £65-70. And in the UK lunch & tea/coffee/squash would usually be included in a £25 package

But that's the same for near enough all paintball stuff anyway, most markers seem to retail at the same amount of £ in the UK as they are in $ in the US. And paint is MUCH cheaper in the US than in the UK, if only because it all has to be imported.

What Ryan says is also true, land is much more expensive over here and much harder to come by.
