Paintballchannel and Furby,

I generally agree with you. I don't think the few mistakes that were made trying to control the growing gun problem is going to do the Millennium, NPPL or PSP in. It was just another phase in PB's growing pains.

I think that among the 80 or so guns that were busted at the World Cup the majority had to be illegal. Probably all but two or three. That number alone shows up the problem. Plus the fact that gun suspensions went down drastically the second day.

I hope you guys can forgive the inadequacies all the major leagues had this season while trying to do something. Next year there MUST be a change.

I for one will not be involved unless we get some positive changes including testing equipment, and not just a robot that can't catch the sophisticated cheaters.

Check out "Speak your brains" for a discussion about possible new rules and testing stuff for next season.

The number I heard was 88, which is close enough for this discussion. Just based on the information I was getting from people directly involved with efforts to correct the 'illegal' guns, I would say that more than 2 or 3 were legal but declared illegal. Once again this illustrates the problems with depending on a subjective judgement call.

But you're correct in saying that the sheer number of markers being inspected and declared illegal is a problem in itself.

I'm watching that other discussion as well...interesting ideas coming about.

Whatever solution comes forth must be much simpler, accurate, scientific (vs subjective), non-interfering, affordable, practically feasible, childproof to operate and effective.

Please understand that here in Europe we have had to think of the legality of our paintguns. If you were found to be shooting an airgun in any mode beyond semiauto, including bouncing, by an inspector in the UK, you would be subject to prosecution for illegal possession of a firearm with 5 to 10 year possible sentence.

So if we don't put some big brakes on it we could lose the whole shabang.

I hope there's no hard feelings (would understand if there were) and that we could have a beer at some tournament. Maybe that would give me a little personality.

Sorry it took me so long to respond...very busy these days!

Steve, it's all said and done now, so there are no hard feelings. Normally I conduct myself as a gentleman when dealing with refs, and I'd hope to think that I did so during our disagreement. Baca Loco himself has penalized me before (hot gun), so he can attest to my demeanor when caught acting the hooligan.

I could have done without the beating that he administered though...:D

Besides, as a result of this controversy surrounding the Adrenalin Angel, my wife (very intelligent woman) decided that I should have a current generation Angel so that there would be no confusion as to why it was going so fast and bought an A4 Fly on the spot from Owen. Wait'll she gets her birthday present today...she's going to freak out!

*pout* But I had a tinted lense in my mask!

Really though...the ball bat with the nail through it was just a bit over the top... :D

EDIT ADDED: Blame Jay. He sent it to me for my birthday. It would'a been rude not to use it. 'Sides, everyone knows scars are cool. TFP

An ugly rumor but it does explain why you kept insisting your name was Pablo. And to think, I thought you were weird before or should that be, festive?:p

PS--that's enough thread-jacking.
