You're right that there isn't currently a mile long line to get involved with paintball.

Where I disagree with you is that that means there wasn't any value in the purchase. With more resources available, that line can be created. And the purchase provides those resources.

So I'm not saying things MAY change. I'm saying they WILL change.

Hmmmmmm, I think we are in agreement here because I think I have said much the same thing, I'm just suggesting something else other than the purchase of the league itself must be planned.
And you basically have agreed with me as you suggest that 'with more resources available', lines can be created.
It just remains to be seen, what lines....

The big question that seems to surface in my head is, are these people coming into paintball in terms of creating new product lines and thus using the league as a convenient and necessary vehicle or ... are they purchasing the league because they wish to develop the media side of things ?

Hmmm, my guess would be the latter but it then begs the question, what do they know that we don't because of late, the TV option has had some very real problems and unless this company has its own access points to the media, it's gonna be quite a struggle to develop the traditional NPPL product with the traditional contacts in the media.

Still, it's all quite exciting and I am sure it will be good for the sport of paintball.

You better bring a whole bunch of those brothers of yours along and a gallon of chloroform - coz Missy, no 300 pound mama is gonna claim my ass !
325 actually, I put on a little over the holidays....
I will tell Denzel, T-bone and Isiah to sharpen their shanks, but it will be at least 2023 before they will be available (the last time someone called me fat they took it the wrong way), so nothing to worry about just yet...

We don't get a lot of chloroform in the ghetto, but I could send over some SPL footage that would do the job just fine....

Reality check

The negitivity in this sport is like no other. Is the glass always half empty for most of you and never half full. After checking and discussing this with my people I beleive this could be a very positive move. Yes Robbo you are correct in saying that "they" always spoke about getting outside sponsors and never were able to. Has anyone ever thought that the people in charge of either league never had the right proposal, connections, a real businesslike approach as well as as a real polished businessman who can go after the real pros and put together a real presentation where real value can be shown. I think not. It is like sending children to do a mans job. Are you spending your money with a kid or a seasoned Pro. Every little kid in America wants to be a Pro baseball player, that doesn't mean they will become one. This is common sense.
It sounds like we may have a real outside investor here who has the money and claims commited to investing real dollars to promote and build this league. From my sources they are a media company with direct ties to both radio and TV. How does that go " it is not what you know but who you know". Let's give it some time and see if these guys are as real as we are being told. If they are real and have a little vision this can become the first real step in taking this to the next level. At the same time if it is real how does the PSP respond. Will they continue to stay in their sand box and continue not to let anyone else play. Maybe , maybe not. But remember all kids grow up and stop playing in sand box's. It should be interesting.

Robbo, I would like to hear your thoughts on this. Please stay open minded. I only say this because at times you may appear to be a little one sided toward the PSP.

Maybe it's best I then keep my white ass outa the slammer lest I meet up with Denzel, T-Bone and Isiah, I certainly don't wanna give them the opportunity of despoiling one of nature's finest works of art now do I.

:) .... Ouch ! ...now I ain't gonna comment on that one otherwise I just get accused of unfair bias, heresy, taking bungs, treason, murder, deceit, and aggravated manslaughter .... the only question that remains is, which camp would it be?
It could be either in my experience !!!

JBP,
I like your post, its right where I am with the whole NPPL deal, but I must defend Pete, as the opposite of your closing remark would be more correct in my opinion. Robbo has been a terrific supporter of the NPPL and PP over the years. It is the league his team always played in, and he did have a choice.

Other than that I think you have hit the nail on the head. Now we just need to find out who you are...

For Fukk's Sake JPB, I was enjoying your post till that last line, it seems ironic what you just posted when you look at the post I just put up there and had no knowledge of the one I am now replying to.

JPB, listen to this very carefully mate :-

I AIN'T FUKKIN BIASED TO NOBODY !!!!!!

I am however biased toward the truth of the matter and if you, or anybody else don't like the truth, hard fukkin luck!

I will tell it like it is, if I criticize anybody - it's because they deserve criticism and not because of some inherent bias either way.
If people don't like my criticism, then hard fukkin luck !!
And then if people think that if I praise somebody I am therefore in their pocket, well how about a different scenario, how about these people I praise did somethign right, what about that?
Why the fukk can't people take criticism and ALWAYS look to deflect that blame by accusing me of bias for the other side rather than accepting that what they are doing maybe wrong.

Sometimes, these fukkin people get right on my tits, they really do

Welcome aboard, boss. Glad to have another interested and interesting voice join the club. Don't be a stranger.

I took Pete's prior posts as merely curious as to the behind the scenes nature of the deal here and just what Pacific has in mind. Otherwise, skepticism ought to be the natural state of anyone involved in paintball.

A larger point really also ought to be made. While this is a public forum it is also an arm of legitimate paintball journalism and Pete is one of the few legit voices and as such he has a different duty to the game than most others--and sometimes that duty is saying unpleasant and/or unpopular things when he believes they need to be said. (Though, again, I don't think this is one of those instances.)

btw, looking forward to repping the best gear in the biz this season and hopefully for many more. ;)

PS--Pete, you know you love it.

Paul, actually I get sick and tired of people's resolve to avoid the truth at any cost and blame others for bias.
Honestly mate, it sickens me, I hate that weakness in people, it truly is pathetic.

Robbo to the rescue

Robbo and Missy Q.
First things first, Missy you don't sound like your from Harlem but we can get into that at a later date. For you Robbo I did not intend to accuse you of anything but rather asked you to show what side you are leaning towards. It was a little payback for asking those direct questions to me last week on that other post. As far as who I am, it doesn't matter because I am no one.
