Have a look at the news, Russia is never mistakingly used in place of some of the former members of the USSR...

I didn't mean that they now refer to it incorrectly, but that they USED TO. You can't deny that in films, tv, etc that up until the breakup of the CCCP people would refer to them collectively as "the Russians"...

I'll throw another one into the bag for free: FORMER Yugoslavia...

I always thought great Britain was England, Wales and Scotland. I thought the United Kingdom was England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Could be wrong.
