In all seriousness;

The Millennium should have distributed last years minutes to the newly promoted teams at the end of last season, copied in all the existing teams, requested a read receipt and reminded everyone about the upcoming dates at that point.

If I've learnt anything in organising stuff is that if you leave it to chance then there is only a chance it will happen.

Its not right, but I think if I was an SPL team owner I would have been banging on the door last November asking for confirmation of the meeting too.

We all know what we are dealing with after all.

I just had a look into last year's minutes:

In order to give maximum notice of the next meeting the date was agreed and set at January 12th 2008 in Amsterdam. Reconfirmation with exact location will be sent to The Owners 6 weeks in advance of this date.
...

Maybe they got caught up in all the Festive celebrations and forgot to remind everyone :) Sloppy work either way though. Make sure to give them a sound ear bashing over it Freddie.

BTW whilst in Amsterdam, check out the Argentinian restaurants, there are loads of them and they are fantastic :) Yes odd I know suggesting something other than the two main things people go to Amsterdam for.......and of course by that Im referring to erm tulips, and err clogs :D

Well - I´m not allowed for theese meetings... Only SPL/CPL team owners or representatives, and it´s not exactly like the IPPU got a speciel invitation. ;)

Must admit I find it ironic that this email confirms the fact that div. 1 will be playing xball this season, BUT no official word has been put out to the teams who it actually affects?

(I would think quite a few - if not all - of the millennium board members reads this, could you please please PLEASE send out some info to the div. 1 teams? What are we to expect for this season??)

my thoughts, based on absolutely no dealings with the millenium officials whatso ever

...the less owners that show the less agro for the board, less demands and objections can be made.

....but that might just be my paranoia showing through.

Evidentially from the evidence produced the Millennium Board thinks its a Government. It must be, as much like Governments they:

1. Plan everything at the last minute
2. Make massive sweeping changes without consulting anyone
3. Make massive changes without informing anyone
4. Look all bewildered when the people get annoyed, and can't figure out why they are annoyed

;)

Seriously though someone needs to give them a slap and remind them that all these teams are their customers (PAYING customers) and although we are not idiots, we do need reminding about meetings and the suchlike. Especially after major International holiday's when everyone still has a hangover. (Everyone except me but then my son is in a neo-natal unit as he was born 3 months early so no parties for me, just lots of hanging around in Hospitals over Xmas and New Year.)
