Searching for the pro-tour....:S
As one of my team posted up in another thread, we had no problems with the Marshalling at all. Every marshall we delt with was polite, cheerfull and highly competant.

The whole team really enjoyed the tourney, perhaps not as much as last years, but that was our first millennium and we were along for the laugh, which always makes things more fun.

Using H-Pac was fantastic, I wonder what are the chances of them going over to Amsterdam for next year??? I though the event ran very well considering the sheer number of teams you ran through those 3 days. Something like 40 teams more than last year? Most 40 team tourneys run late, never mind ones 4 times the size!!!

My only real gripe with the event was that we had to play a game in the virtual dark. Perhaps if all the fields could have flood lights for next year then it won't matter, i'll happily play ball until midnight!!!

So overall to Niall, all the staff, Marshalls, cleaners, tea ladies, scaffolders etc. a sincere thankyou.

Laterz

Ian

:)

P.s I lied, gripe number 2, can we please not have 5 teams in our pre-lim games that all make the Sunday club next year?? Pretty please? ;) :D

Maybe the council should be approached to be more supportive and in turn their community will benefit. Just a thought.
Unfortunately we're talking about the London Borough of Bromley here, who are the most pig-headed bunch of old farts of all time! They are sooooooo concerned with their image and that of the borough that they don't ever want anything happening that could possibly be classed as controversial in any way shape or form by anybody. Typical example from my own experience - in Chislehurst there is a big network of chalk caves, been in use for literally thousands of years and was the biggest air raid shelter in the UK. Even has it's own consecrated church! My brother wanted to get married there, but they refused a civil license on the grounds that these magnificent caves "wouldn't be fitting for the solemnity of a wedding ceremony". What bullsh*t, bearing in mind that other towns let you get married on the local footy pitch, but typical Bromley. If Bromley had still been in charge of Crystal Palace rather than Sport England, they would never have permitted CC to be held there.

Married in the Chistlehurst Caves, cool!

Might spoil the ceremony a little when 2 dozen live role players come charging through waving latex swords!

Who would be sad enough to do that..............

Ian runs away as he spills out more details of his sordid dodgy past!

Anyway I'm surprised that even bromley council could object to having an international sporting event thrown up in their borough!
Narrow minded, antiquated little people!

The LRPs were all shunted off to their private dungeons for the duration of the wedding - yes he did manage to do the ceremonial part in the caves, just did the "legal" bit a couple of days earlier at the registry office.

Narrow minded and antequated just about sums up Bromley council; I should know, I've lived here my whole life  Well at least the council tax is low, probably partly 'cause they won't pick up your rubbish if it's more than 1 metre from the pavement, and wheely bins are banned!
