Until there is an independant body of Marshalls, then we have to rely on teams. I actually don't agree with one team marshalling one field, Mix them up I say.
Saying that I agree with Robbo too many people stand back and knock, without saying anything constructive.
Don't knock the tourney organisation, they can only use what is offered, push for the formation of a independent marshelling crew.

Personally i thought the event was class A.

The longest we had to wait for a game was about 30-40 Minutes, and this was due to unknown reasons! Out of 13 games we only suffered from 1 controversial call, which after talking to Goose made perfect sense - what can you do?

Just remember, you never seem too argue a call if you win.

I understand people's gripes with there equipment being swiped, as im sure i would blame the event before myself - but until we work out a flawless security plan what can we do? The police fail to stop theives for christ sake!

As for the flyering of the event, it is ILLEGAL to flypost - Council's now have the authority to prosicute under a new goverment legislation. I know, because im a council working **** :)

As for the netting, there where a few dangerous holes - mainly around the Raven fields. There was also balls flying over the Rps field after they bounced off the back square barricade. Thats all....

The X-ball was in an amazing location for spectating, and i talked too few people who have never seen paintball before who were there just to use the other sports facilities and they loved it!!

Top Notch.

:)

Honest guv

We at A few good Men had a fantastic time. I only saw one call all weekend i disagreed with (see elsewhere).

Overall judging was great, had no problems with it.

Anyone who had a problem with the fields think of this. On the initial walking we thought that field 7 was going to be a problem. Our captain then said " right if we think this is bad so will everyone else. We will now walk this field until it is our favourite field" We did this and murdered our way through both our games on there.

Trade stands excellent.

Organisers: friendly and courteous.

Overall this event flat out rocked. I went to both Germany and Campaign this year and both events were superbly well run.

Niall, it would be the biggest loss to Brit paintball if you decided not to run this again. To those teams who didn't like it don't come next year. Go play some piss poor local tourney and pick on punter teams.

I've been playing in eight Millenniums in three seasons, and this was one of the top tournaments ever.

Field layouts were outstanding.
Air supply was better than never before.
In general we had a great time!

Two constructive remarks:

You could pay even more attention on chronoing next teams between the games. It worked fine on most of the fields, but it needs only one field to fail it and it ruins the whole tournament schuedule.

The finals should be the climax of the tournament. You really should have it made better for the audience. Between AmA and Pro Semifinals and final games, you could run some of the AmB and nov final round robin games so that it wouldn't get boring to wait. Ask Magued, the finals in Joy Masters were awesome!

On the behalf of team Takeover:
Thank you Niall and the rest of the Campaign cup staff!
Hope we can be there next year.

BAD TO THE BONE
Barring last years CC i've played in everyone. This year i was asked to ultimate along with moose and steve from true colors which for me is a great honour.
First up, i knew steve but had never really talked to him. What a great guy. Moose is moose is moose and he knows his onions make no bones about it and he'll be missed from the circuit if he does quit the mill series.
It's the first time i've seen behind the scenes at CC and i'm amazed that there are any complaints. The venue and the weather alone made it a great event. There were problems, there always is but all were overcome.Everybody behind the scenes worked their socks off & some more and i dont think they get the credit they deserve.
From where,we as ultimates were,we just had to smooth out problems from judges. The judges had to smooth out playing problems and the players just had to play.
The radio messages for this and that ,to where ever, would put air traffic control to shame at times.Thats what the back room staff do and they did a great job.

Thankyou.

ps would notorious please go to field 4:D

Niall,

I started the thread First Campaign Moan in the Speak Your Brains forum and all the comments I made were meant to be constructive criticism and two of the four were actually aimed at the players not the event.

You've answered the comment on signage and I think this is a little short sighted of the local council. If people dont go to events in the councils community then the local economy doesnt benefit. Maybe the council should be approached to be more supportive and in turn their community will benefit. Just a thought.

Like I said in my thread I was spectator side of the netting so maybe some people dont think my points are valid but I'm Paintball's biggest fan and supporter. The comments I made were for the good of the sport.

The comments made by players were just put downs for their own failings. As Robbo says, the players are the marshalls, if you want it changed then put your hand in your pocket and professional marshals will be a reality. Or help/support organisations like the EPA who are actually working for the players. Simply put up or shut up!

I enjoyed this Campaign Cup, it was a fantastic spectacle. I for one would be gutted if comments I made make you consider not holding the event. I apologise if offence has been caused to you or your staff.
